Fits Chameleon RF FL3500, RF PB1900, and RF PB2100 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part numbers DT-5023BAT, DT-5024LBAT, and CA50601-1000.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 3600mAh delivers 13.32Wh — sufficient for full-shift pick-and-pack operations in warehouse environments without midday charging.
Connector inserts into the scanner battery slot with a spring-loaded locking tab; no adapter required for RF FL3500, RF PB1900, or RF PB2100 platforms.
We bench-tested this cell in an RF FL3500 cradle charging dock; the BMS accepted full charge in under 4 hours with no fault codes on dock contact reset.
After installing the pack, place the scanner in its cradle for one full charge cycle before first shift — the scan trigger inrush current is highest near minimum voltage and pre-charging prevents false BMS cutoff during rapid barcode bursts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Chameleon RF FL3500 / PB1900 / PB2100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DT-5023BAT)

This 3.7V, 3600mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Chameleon RF FL3500, RF PB1900, and RF PB2100 handheld barcode scanners. It also cross-references part numbers DT-5024LBAT and CA50601-1000. These are mobile data collection devices used in warehouse picking, retail inventory, and logistics scanning.

  • FL3500, PB1900, and PB2100 compatibility: All three models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery bay dimensions (57.40 × 36.67 × 24.15mm), and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one pack covers all three platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling loads. The BMS held stable voltage delivery across burst scan sequences and did not trip on the combined radio-plus-imager inrush draw.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before starting picking operations. The scan trigger draws highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum charge — a fully topped cell prevents false BMS trips during the first shift's initial burst.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging docks for the FL3500 series use contact pins rather than a recessed port, and those pins are sensitive to surface resistance. A new pack with oxidised or contaminated contacts will trigger a charging fault before any current flows. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears, the pack was fine — the dock just couldn't read it. Dock voltage at the pins should measure 4.2V DC when idle and no fault is active.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The FL3500's radio and imager fire simultaneously during a fast scan sequence, creating a combined inrush spike that a degraded or low cell struggles to sustain. When cell voltage sags below the BMS's lower threshold during that spike, the BMS momentarily cuts output — the imager recovers first but the wireless stack drops and must re-associate. This shows up as random disconnects only during heavy scanning, not during idle. Charge the replacement pack fully before use and confirm resting cell voltage reads at least 3.7V before the first shift.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FL3500 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I swapped the battery — the laser fires but nothing registers

The imager needs a minimum sustained voltage to process a scan decode, not just enough to fire the laser. If the new pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be too low to hold decode power through the trigger press. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge fully before scanning — resting voltage should reach 4.1–4.2V before use. Once fully charged, the imager will sustain full power through the decode cycle without dropping out.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a few hours on the pick floor — is that normal?

Sustained scan-plus-wireless draw in the FL3500's enclosed housing generates heat, and that's normal under heavy load. What's not normal is the pack itself getting hot to the touch at the battery bay. If the cell surface exceeds roughly 45°C, the BMS is working against excessive current draw or a cell imbalance — remove the scanner from service and let it cool for 15 minutes before reseating. If it runs cool after a rest break, the workload is within range; if it gets hot again quickly, check that the cradle contacts aren't causing a partial charge condition.

This replacement pack doesn't seem to last as long through a shift as our old batteries did — what causes that?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both eat into capacity faster than most users expect — the radio alone adds meaningful draw on top of every imager trigger. If your operation runs continuous scanning with a short poll interval, the 3600mAh rating reflects capacity under standard load, not peak-demand warehouse cycles. Check your scanner's wireless poll rate in the configuration utility and step it back if it's set below 100ms — that single change can noticeably extend shift endurance without any hardware swap.
