Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobila PPT101 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Mobila PPT101 handheld barcode scanner. The PPT101 is used in retail, warehouse, and logistics environments for barcode scanning and inventory collection. Swap this pack in when the original no longer holds a full shift's charge.
- PPT101 platform fit: The PPT101 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a compact 53.00 × 35.30 × 11.00mm footprint. This battery matches that form factor and voltage rail. The BMS communicates with the scanner's charge controller, so the dock reads charge state correctly without false errors.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench, including simulated scan-trigger inrush events. The BMS held stable across repeated low-voltage draws without tripping into protection mode prematurely.
- First-shift prep for pick-and-pack use: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell sits near minimum voltage — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips during the first burst of rapid scans.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Charging errors on a freshly installed pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a battery fault. Dock contacts on high-use cradles accumulate oxidation and debris that raise resistance enough to confuse the charge controller. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the pack is fine — the contact surface was the fault.
Scanner losing wireless connection during a rapid scan burst
The PPT101 draws on the battery simultaneously for the scan trigger and the wireless radio during fast scan bursts. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio drops its connection before the scan engine shuts down — so the scanner appears to read but fails to transmit. This happens more often with a degraded original pack but can also occur with a new pack installed below 3.4V. Charge the replacement fully before use and confirm the resting voltage reads above 3.6V before the shift begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PPT101 isn't reading barcodes after I swapped the battery — the laser fires but nothing registers. What's wrong?
The scan engine needs a minimum voltage to fire accurately — if the new pack was installed at a low state of charge, the laser or imager may be operating below the threshold the PPT101 requires for a clean decode. This isn't a scanner fault; it's a voltage issue. Place the unit in the cradle and charge fully before attempting any scans. Once the cell reaches 3.7V, barcode reads should return to normal.
The replacement battery seems to drain much faster than the original did when it was new. Why isn't it lasting a full shift?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling both pull from the same cell simultaneously, and that combined draw is higher than most users expect from a compact 1800mAh pack. Check whether wireless polling intervals have been tightened recently or scan volume has increased — both shorten endurance without any change to the battery. Also confirm the pack completed a full first charge cycle in the cradle; a partial first charge artificially limits usable capacity on that shift. Run one complete charge-to-full cycle and compare shift endurance against the previous session.
The scanner body gets noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous use. Is the battery causing that?
Heat in the PPT101 housing after extended use comes from sustained combined draw — the scan engine and wireless radio both dissipate heat into the same enclosed shell. The battery itself contributes some warmth under continuous discharge, but the housing traps it. This is normal up to the point where the unit becomes uncomfortable to hold. If the scanner shuts itself down due to heat, reduce continuous scan bursts and allow 30-second rest intervals; the BMS thermal cutoff triggers at sustained temperatures above what the cell is rated for, and brief pauses reset that threshold.
