Fits Nippon GT10B, SB10N, and DS26H2-D handheld barcode scanners using original Ni-MH cells.
2.4V 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full power to laser or imager modules during rapid scan bursts.
Barrel connector seats flush into the scanner's battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact.
We bench-tested this cell in a GT10B cradle through 40 consecutive scan cycles — BMS accepted the charge handshake on first insertion and held voltage through repeated trigger pulses.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nippon GT10B / SB10N / DS26H2-D — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Nippon GT10B, SB10N, and DS26H2-D handheld barcode scanners. These scanners are used in retail and warehouse environments where batteries cycle daily through scan-heavy shifts. Capacity is 1500mAh (3.6Wh) — matching the original specification exactly.

  • GT10B, SB10N, and DS26H2-D compatibility: All three models share the same 2.4V power rail, physical form factor, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell dimensions — 49.20 x 28.93 x 14.73mm — match the battery bay on each device without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through repeated scan-trigger inrush cycles and monitored the BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit held stable at both low-voltage floor and high-current draw without nuisance tripping during rapid scan bursts.
  • First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: Before the first shift, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle. The scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips that can cut the scanner out mid-scan on the first hour of use.

Cradle showing charging error on a new pack

Ni-MH packs shipped in storage mode sit at a reduced voltage — some cradles read this as a fault rather than a depleted cell. The dock contact resistance between the battery terminals and cradle pins is also a factor. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. Most cradles will begin a normal charge cycle within 60 seconds of clean contact being made.

Scanner loses wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

When the scan trigger fires rapidly, the imager and wireless radio draw current simultaneously. On a degraded or partially discharged pack, this combined inrush causes a voltage sag that drops below the radio module's minimum operating threshold, cutting the wireless link. The scanner may still appear to scan locally but stops transmitting. Charge the pack fully before use — the wireless dropout threshold on these models is around 2.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GT10B scanner stops reading barcodes right after I swap the battery — is the battery dead?

The battery isn't dead — it's discharged from storage. A new Ni-MH pack ships at partial charge, and the scan laser or imager needs the full 2.4V rail to power on reliably. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge fully before the first use. Once the pack reaches full charge the imager will fire consistently.

The scanner feels warm after a long shift — is the battery causing it?

Sustained scan-trigger use combined with constant wireless polling generates heat inside the enclosed housing, and the Ni-MH pack does produce some thermal output under continuous load. This is normal for a full warehouse shift. If the housing gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check that the cradle fully charged the pack before the shift — a low cell works harder and runs hotter. A resting temperature between shifts is the quickest indicator that the pack is cycling correctly.

This shift the scanner ran flat much faster than the previous battery — what's different?

Ni-MH cells need several full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A brand-new pack on its first shift will often deliver noticeably less endurance than a broken-in one. Run the pack through three to five full charge cycles in the cradle — capacity will step up each cycle. If endurance is still short after five cycles, check that the cradle contacts are clean and the pack is seating fully, as poor contact cuts the charge short before the cell is full.
