Fits Opticon H-19, H-19a, H-19d, H-16 barcode scanners; replaces OEM H-19, 11812, 019WS000861, 019WS000878, 02BATLION-09 cells.
This 3.7V Li-ion pack holds 900mAh capacity; sufficient for full-shift warehouse scanning with standard cradle charge cycles.
Battery slides into the grip slot vertically with a single locking tab; connector is recessed and keyed one-way.
We bench-tested this cell in an H-19d under sustained rapid scan bursts; the BMS held voltage flat and accepted dock charging immediately.
Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack; the scan trigger inrush is highest when cells approach minimum and can trip BMS cutoff on first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Opticon H-19 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (11812)

This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Opticon H-19, H-19a, H-19d, and H-16 handheld barcode scanners. It fits the same footprint as the factory pack — 53.23 x 40.76 x 8.60mm — and uses the same connector and BMS handshake the scanner expects. If your H-19 is shutting down mid-shift or no longer holding a charge, this cell replaces it directly.

  • H-19 and H-16 platform compatibility: The H-19, H-19a, H-19d, and H-16 all share the same 3.7V battery bay and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between these models works because the voltage rail, connector pinout, and charge termination logic are identical across the family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on an H-19 unit. The BMS accepted charge termination cleanly, reported state-of-charge correctly to the scanner's firmware, and held voltage stable under repeated scan trigger events.
  • First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: Before running this battery on the warehouse floor, seat it in the cradle for a complete charge cycle. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips during the first shift's rapid scan bursts.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging cradles for the H-19 use contact-based charging, which makes them sensitive to contact resistance. A new pack with oxidation or residue on the gold contacts can cause the cradle to flag a fault rather than begin charging. Wipe the contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears, the cell was not making a solid electrical connection — not a fault with the battery chemistry itself.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The H-19 draws current from the same cell for both the wireless radio and the scan trigger simultaneously. During rapid burst scanning, the combined inrush from the imager and the radio transmitter can pull voltage down briefly. If the cell is partially discharged, that voltage sag crosses the BMS cutoff threshold and the radio drops connection before the scanner fully shuts down. Charge the battery to 4.2V before a high-frequency scanning shift to keep the voltage headroom above the cutoff floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My H-19 scanner stops reading barcodes immediately after I installed the new battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and a new cell shipped in storage state may not be at full charge. The scanner powers on but the imager draw pulls voltage below its operating floor before the BMS can respond. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge the new pack fully before use — the reading failure will clear once the cell reaches 4.2V.

The H-19 drops its wireless connection mid-shift but doesn't fully power off — what's causing that?

The wireless radio and scan trigger both draw from the same cell simultaneously. When the battery dips below roughly 3.5V under that combined load, the radio drops first while the scanner stays on. This is voltage sag under inrush, not a faulty battery. Start each shift with a full charge and the radio will stay stable through the combined draw.

This battery isn't lasting as long per shift as the original did when it was new — is something wrong with the replacement?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both directly affect how fast the cell depletes — a high-volume pick-and-pack shift draws significantly more than light intermittent scanning. At 900mAh, this pack matches the original factory capacity; if endurance has changed, check whether scan frequency or wireless polling has increased compared to your previous usage. Reducing continuous wireless polling intervals in the scanner's settings is the fastest way to extend per-shift endurance without changing the battery.
