Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Urovo CT48 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HB50DT48)
This is a 3.85V, 4100mAh Li-ion battery for the Urovo CT48 mobile data terminal. It fits CT48 units used in warehouse picking, retail stocktaking, and logistics scanning. The HB50DT48 part number matches the OEM connector and BMS handshake the CT48 expects.
- CT48 platform fit: The CT48 uses a dedicated battery bay with a multi-pin connector that carries both charge and BMS communication. This pack matches that pinout exactly — the device firmware reads cell state correctly and does not flag a foreign-battery warning.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the CT48 platform. The BMS reported accurate state-of-charge, the over-discharge cutoff triggered at the correct threshold, and the pack resumed charging normally in the cradle after cutoff.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: Before putting this pack into active scanning, seat it in the charging cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle. The scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first burst-scan session of the shift.
Why the CT48 cradle shows a charging error on a new pack
Charging errors on a new pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a fault with the cell itself. The CT48 cradle reads authentication data through the battery contacts — if those contacts are dirty or the pack is not fully seated, the handshake fails and the dock reports an error. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, then press the pack firmly into the dock until it clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds, contact resistance was the cause.
CT48 losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The CT48 draws simultaneously from its wireless radio and its imager during a rapid scan burst — the combined inrush can cause a momentary voltage sag on a partially discharged cell. When the cell voltage dips below the BMS threshold, the device drops the wireless connection to protect the cell, even though the scanner appears otherwise functional. This is more common when the battery is below 30% charge and scan frequency is high. Keep the pack above 40% during intensive burst-scan workflows to avoid the sag threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CT48 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?
The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire consistently, and a new pack shipped at partial charge may sit just above that threshold. Place the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle before use. We saw this exact behaviour on the bench — after a full charge the imager powered correctly on every trigger pull. Do not use the scanner for production scanning until the cradle shows a full charge.
The CT48 feels noticeably warm after a long scanning shift — is that a fault?
Warmth after an extended shift is normal on the CT48 because the imager, wireless radio, and processor all run inside a compact sealed housing with limited airflow. The pack itself generates some heat during sustained discharge, and that heat has nowhere to go quickly. What you should not feel is heat concentrated at the battery bay after a short session — that would point to high contact resistance at the connector. Check that the battery is fully seated and the contacts are clean if the heat is localised rather than general.
The new battery doesn't seem to last as long through the shift as the original did when it was new — what affects that?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest variables. The CT48 radio polls the network continuously, and each scan trigger adds an inrush spike on top of that baseline draw — high-frequency scanning in a dense wireless environment draws significantly more than light occasional scanning. Also check that the pack completed at least two full charge-discharge cycles before judging endurance; cell capacity often reads low for the first cycle or two. If endurance is still short after three full cycles, check the cradle contacts for corrosion that could be interrupting charge termination.
