Fits Kärcher VCN 3 and VCN 4 cordless vacuum cleaners, replacing OEM part 8.759-985.0.
25.2V and 3000mAh capacity delivers full motor torque on carpet and upholstery work.
Connector slides straight into the dock with a positive lock tab that seats flush.
We tested the BMS on dock insertion — no fault codes, charge curve stable throughout.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity faster than charge-then-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KARCHER VCN 3 / VCN 4 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (8.759-985.0)

This is a 25.2V 3000mAh (75.6Wh) lithium-ion battery pack for the KARCHER VCN 3 and VCN 4 cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It fits the OEM slot directly and uses the original part number 8.759-985.0. Capacity figures are taken from the product specification — not estimated.

  • VCN 3 and VCN 4 compatibility: Both models run the same 25.2V motor rail and use the identical battery housing and BMS handshake protocol. A single pack covers all four listed variants — VCN 3, VCN 3 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, VCN 4, and VCN 4 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start loads simulating blockage conditions. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold correctly and did not trip on normal suction draws. Cell balance across the pack stayed within spec after ten full discharge cycles.
  • Dock charging on the VCN 3 and VCN 4: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously. These models trickle-charge when docked and full, which accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The VCN 3 and VCN 4 motors pull significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter can push draw well above the rated figure. The BMS reads this as a high-load event and steps down the voltage rail to protect the cells, which the user feels as suction loss. The battery indicator measures state of charge, not current draw, so it can still show two bars while the motor is already running in a throttled state. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery was not the issue.

Motor cuts out mid-use and then restarts after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a depleted cell. It happens when sustained restricted suction forces the motor to draw above the pack's continuous current limit — the BMS cuts output, the motor stops, the BMS resets, and the motor restarts. The cycle repeats until the restriction is cleared. Check the filter and the intake path for blockage before assuming the battery is faulty. If the motor runs cleanly after clearing the blockage, the pack is operating as expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VCN 3 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — is the battery failing?

Not necessarily. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, and the BMS steps down the voltage rail to protect the cells — you feel that as suction loss before the charge indicator moves. Clean the filter and clear the intake path, then test again. If suction returns to full strength immediately, the battery is fine and the filter was the cause.

The motor on my VCN 4 keeps cutting out for a few seconds then restarting on its own — what's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip cycling on and off. When airflow is restricted, the motor pulls above the pack's continuous current limit, the BMS cuts output, resets within seconds, and the motor starts again. It will keep doing this until the restriction is cleared. Remove the filter, check the intake nozzle for blockage, and run the vacuum again — if the cut-outs stop, the battery pack itself is working correctly.

I leave my VCN 3 on the dock between uses and the battery seems to hold less charge than it used to — is that normal?

Yes, and it's the most common cause of capacity fade on these models. The VCN 3 and VCN 4 continue to trickle-charge while docked and full, which degrades Li-ion cells faster than normal cycling. Charge the battery to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off charge. If capacity has already dropped noticeably, a full discharge down to the BMS cutoff voltage followed by a complete recharge can partially recalibrate the state-of-charge reading — run the vacuum until it shuts off, then charge fully before the next use.
