Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vokkero GUARD CHX1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT-010)
This 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Vokkero GUARD CHX1 and related GUARD series handheld barcode scanners. It fits the GUARD FCE001-ST, GUARD FCE02, and GUARD FCE03 alongside additional models in the same family. Capacity is 900mAh (3.33Wh), matching the original cell specification.
- GUARD series platform fit: These scanners share a common battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake across the CHX1, FCE001-ST, FCE02, and FCE03. The voltage rail is 3.7V nominal throughout the range, so one cell format serves the whole family without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger bursts combined with active wireless polling — the two highest simultaneous draws this device sees. The BMS held stable cutoff thresholds and returned to charge acceptance cleanly after each deep cycle.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle for a full charge cycle before picking with it. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks hardest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and a fully charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first heavy burst of the shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A new cell shipped at storage charge, typically between 3.6V and 3.8V. Some GUARD cradles read this as a fault state rather than a normal charge-start condition and flash an error LED. Wipe the battery contact pads with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly until the dock clicks, then wait 90 seconds. Most cradles re-poll the pack and resume normal charging once contact resistance drops below the dock's threshold.
Scanner dropping wireless link during rapid scan bursts
The GUARD series transmits scan data over a wireless link at the same moment the imager fires — both loads hit the cell simultaneously. When the cell voltage sags under this combined draw, the radio module loses enough headroom to maintain its connection and drops the link momentarily. This becomes more frequent as a cell ages and internal resistance rises, but it also appears with an uncharged new pack. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V before the first shift and the sag stays within the radio module's operating window.

Frequently Asked Questions
The scanner reads barcodes fine on the bench but misses codes on the warehouse floor — why does swapping to a new battery fix it?
On the warehouse floor, the imager fires more frequently and the wireless link is active throughout, pulling both loads from the cell at once. A degraded or low-charge cell sags in voltage under that combined draw, and the imager drops below its minimum operating power before it can complete a read. A fresh, fully charged cell holds voltage above the imager's minimum even at peak inrush. Charge the new pack completely in the cradle before the first shift to avoid the same symptom on day one.
My GUARD scanner runs noticeably warm by the end of a long pick shift — is that a battery fault?
Heat in the GUARD housing during extended shifts is normal given the layout: the scan engine, wireless radio, and battery are packed into a compact shell with limited airflow. Sustained back-to-back scanning combined with continuous wireless polling keeps both the cell and the radio module generating heat throughout the shift. A battery with rising internal resistance generates more heat than a fresh cell under the same load. If the housing is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check whether the cell voltage at end-of-shift is dropping below 3.5V — that level of depletion under load points to a cell that needs replacement.
The cradle contact pins look clean but the scanner still won't charge — what should I check on the battery side?
The dock pins make contact with small pads on the battery pack itself, and those pads can carry a thin oxidation layer or residue from the previous pack. Remove the battery, wipe all three contact pads on the pack with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat it and press the scanner firmly into the cradle until it clicks. If the cradle still shows no charge activity, measure the pack voltage directly — a reading below 3.0V means the cell has discharged past the BMS's recovery threshold and the cradle will refuse to charge it. In that case, a new pack is the correct fix, not a dock reset.
