Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Silvercrest Action Cam SCAA 5.00 A1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AT-S60)
This 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original AT-S60 battery in the Silvercrest Action Cam SCAA 5.00 A1. It fits the compact action camera body and connects via the standard contact plate. Dimensions are 43.30 × 31.30 × 7.10mm — identical to the factory cell.
- SCAA 5.00 A1 fit confirmed: The SCAA 5.00 A1 uses a single-cell 3.7V flat pack with a specific contact pitch. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical footprint, so the door closes flush and the contacts seat correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SCAA 5.00 A1 body, monitoring the BMS handshake on first charge insertion. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted a full charge without fault flags.
- First charge via camera body: Charge this cell inside the SCAA 5.00 A1 body — not via an external charger — before your first shoot. Some action cam BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining display only after it reads the initial charge curve from within the body itself.
Dead battery indicator on the SCAA 5.00 A1 with a partially charged replacement cell
The SCAA 5.00 A1 uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge level. A new replacement cell ships at storage charge — typically around 3.6–3.7V — which can sit right at or below the camera's low-battery threshold. The camera reads this as a flat or dead cell even though the battery is not depleted. One full charge cycle inside the camera body recalibrates the threshold map and clears the false indicator.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during recording
Action cameras log discharge curves based on the original factory cell's voltage profile. A replacement cell with a slightly different discharge slope can cause the indicator to jump — for example, dropping from 60% to 20% in a short span. This is a display mapping issue, not a cell fault. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the firmware will re-anchor its percentage steps to the new cell's actual curve. After that, readings stabilise to within a few percentage points of real charge state.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SCAA 5.00 A1 shows a battery icon but won't power on after I installed the replacement — what's wrong?
The camera's BMS authentication check sometimes rejects a new cell on the very first install if the cell voltage is below the camera's startup threshold. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly so the contacts seat fully, then charge via the camera body until the charge indicator clears. If the camera still won't boot, check that the contact plate on the battery isn't sitting proud of the shell — a gap of even half a millimetre breaks the circuit.
Shot count dropped significantly compared to my old battery — why is this happening?
The SCAA 5.00 A1 draws additional current when video stabilisation, continuous autofocus, and the LCD preview are all active simultaneously. That combined draw is higher than the single-task spec figure and will reduce shot count noticeably. Check whether Wi-Fi or recording mode is set to 4K — higher bitrate modes push the processor harder and add to cell drain. Dropping to 1080p and disabling Wi-Fi between transfers cuts the steady-state draw and extends usable recording capacity.
My replacement battery drains much faster in cold weather — is the cell faulty?
Li-ion cells lose usable capacity at low temperatures because internal resistance rises as the electrolyte cools — this is a chemistry characteristic, not a defect. Below around 10°C, a 1050mAh cell can deliver noticeably less charge before voltage drops to the camera's cutoff threshold. Keep the camera inside a jacket pocket between shots to hold the cell above 15°C, and the capacity loss largely reverses. If drain is severe even at room temperature, check resting voltage with the camera off — a healthy cell should read between 3.7V and 4.1V after a full charge.
