2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk and standby capacity on DECT base stations.
Battery slides into handset slot with flat connector; locking tab seats flush with housing.
Bench testing showed stable voltage hold under simulated standby load; BMS accepts base charge protocol immediately.
After installing, place handset in base for full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG Dolphy — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery for the AEG Dolphy cordless phone handset. It sits inside the handset and powers the DECT radio, display, and keypad between charges. When the original pack degrades after repeated charge cycles, talk time and standby duration drop — this battery restores both.

  • AEG Dolphy handset fit: The Dolphy handset runs a 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack at a fixed form factor — 45 x 21 x 10mm. The base station charges via contact pins, so physical size and cell voltage both have to match. This pack meets both requirements.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Dolphy platform. The base station accepted the charge handshake cleanly, and the BMS held voltage steady across standby and active transmission loads.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base immediately after fitting this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cordless phone cells ship partially discharged and need a slow first charge to condition to rated capacity — a short charge will leave the first few cycles feeling weak.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH cells don't hit rated capacity on the first cycle. The electrodes need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach their stated capacity — this is normal chemistry, not a defect. On the Dolphy, a fresh pack often feels weak for the first day or two of use. Run the handset through complete discharge and full 16-hour base charges for the first five cycles and talk time will climb to rated level.

Base station not charging the handset after a battery swap

Ni-MH packs lose charge during warehouse storage and can arrive below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is seated. If the Dolphy base shows a charge error light or simply doesn't begin charging, the pack voltage is likely too low for the base to accept. Remove the handset, hold the charge contacts clean with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and wait ten minutes — some base units need the pack to trickle up to threshold voltage before the charge circuit activates. If the indicator still doesn't respond, check contact pin alignment and reseat again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG Dolphy has good range one minute and then cuts out or sounds crackly — could the battery be causing this?

Yes. When a Ni-MH pack voltage drops under RF load, the DECT transmitter in the handset can't sustain full output power, which causes range reduction, audio drop-outs, or crackling mid-call. This happens most on older or degraded packs because their internal resistance rises, causing voltage to sag the moment the radio fires up. Fit the new pack, run a full 16-hour first charge, and complete three to five full cycles before judging range.

My AEG Dolphy handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones clear their pairing memory when the battery is fully removed, because pairing data is held in volatile memory powered by the handset battery. This isn't a fault with the new battery — it's a side effect of the power interruption during the swap. Re-register the handset to the base using the pairing button on the base station, following the steps on page one of the Dolphy manual. The process takes under two minutes.

The Dolphy battery drains overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

If the handset isn't fully and squarely seated in the base cradle, the charge contacts don't make consistent connection and the handset runs on battery instead of charging. Check that the handset clicks or sits flush in the cradle — even a slight tilt can break contact. Clean the charge pins on both the handset and base with a dry cloth to remove oxidation, then reseat. If standby drain continues, confirm the base unit's power adapter is plugged in and the charge indicator light is active.
