Fits Binatone BB500, BB600, E800, and E3800 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part number BT-34H.
2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity for full talk and standby cycles on DECT handsets.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment; locking tab secures the pack flush against the handset base.
We cycled the cell through five full charge-discharge runs; BMS showed stable voltage recovery and no early cutoff.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Binatone BB500 / E3800 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT-34H)

This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for Binatone cordless phone handsets. It fits the BB500, BB600, E800, and E3800 among others using the BT-34H pack. When the original battery no longer holds a charge, this restores full call and standby function to the handset without replacing the whole phone.

  • BB500 / BB600 / E800 / E3800 compatibility: These handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack format, the same physical footprint (45 × 21 × 10mm), and the same base-station charging circuit. One battery spec covers all of them.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Binatone base station charging circuit. The base accepted charge immediately, current tapered correctly at full state, and the BMS showed no false cutoff during the first three conditioning cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it typically results in shortened talk time for the first several uses.

Range dropping after a battery swap on Binatone handsets

Binatone DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available voltage from the battery pack. A new NiMH battery arriving from storage sits at a partial state of charge — often below 2.2V. Under RF load that voltage sags further, causing the handset's transmitter to throttle down. The result is reduced range that looks like a faulty battery but is actually a conditioning issue. Two to three full charge cycles through the base station bring the cells to rated voltage and restore normal transmit power.

Base station charge light not coming on with new pack installed

Binatone base stations use a delta-V detection circuit to confirm a NiMH pack is present and accepting charge. If the pack voltage is too low from storage, the base may not trigger the charge cycle at all — the indicator stays dark or shows an error. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly so the contacts align. If the light still does not activate, check the pack voltage with a multimeter — a reading below 1.8V means the cells have deep-discharged and need a slow trickle at around 60mA to recover before the base circuit will take over.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Binatone BB500 talk time is much shorter than it used to be even after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong. NiMH cordless phone batteries ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge cycles before they reach rated capacity. Run the handset until it prompts you to charge, then return it to the base for a full session each time. By cycle four or five, talk time should be at or near the 600mAh rated level.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some Binatone DECT models drop their pairing data when power is fully lost. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or register button — on most Binatone models, hold the button on the base for three seconds until the base beeps, then confirm on the handset within 60 seconds.

The new battery drains completely overnight even though I leave the handset in the base — what causes that?

This is a contact or seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully seated, the charging contacts do not close and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Press the handset firmly into the base until you hear or feel it click into position, then check that the charge indicator light activates within a few seconds of seating.
