Fits Lexibook DP 380FR, DP 411, DP 441, DPC 280 cordless handsets; replaces original 2.4V Ni-MH pack.
2.4V, 600mAh capacity delivers standard talk time on this DECT handset platform without sag under transmit load.
Connector seats vertically into handset battery slot with positive terminal facing upward; locking tab engages at base.
We bench-tested the BMS on a DP 380FR base charger; voltage climbed steadily from 2.1V to 2.4V with no fault codes.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries require slow initial charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lexibook DP 380FR / DP 411 / DP 441 / DPC 280 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Lexibook DP 380FR, DP 411, DP 441, and DPC 280 cordless phone handsets. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the handset when the original cell no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 45.00 × 21.00 × 10.00mm.

  • DP 380FR, DP 411, DP 441, DPC 280 compatibility: These four Lexibook handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack format and battery bay footprint. The voltage rail and connector orientation are identical across the group, so one battery part number covers all four models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on compatible Lexibook hardware. The base station accepted the charge handshake without error, and voltage held steady through multiple full cycles before reaching rated capacity.
  • First charge on a Lexibook handset: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first call. Ni-MH cordless phone cells arrive partially discharged from storage — a slow, uninterrupted first charge lets the pack reach its rated 600mAh instead of forming at a lower ceiling.

Range dropping on the DP 380FR after a battery swap

DECT transmit power draws in short, sharp bursts. When a fresh Ni-MH pack hasn't completed its first full conditioning cycle, internal resistance is higher than rated. Under RF load, voltage sags enough that the handset reduces transmit power to protect the circuit. The result looks like a range problem, but the battery is the cause. After three to five full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and the voltage holds steadier under load — range returns to normal.

Base station charge light not coming on with a new battery installed

Lexibook bases use a trickle-sense circuit that checks for a minimum voltage before committing to a charge cycle. A Ni-MH pack that has sat in storage can drop below that acceptance threshold — typically around 2.0V for a 2.4V pack. The base reads this as "no battery present" and shows no charge light. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the light still doesn't appear, use a USB charger and a compatible cable to feed a brief top-up current into the pack directly, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lexibook DP 380FR talk time is much shorter than it used to be — is this a faulty battery?

Not likely. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. If the pack arrived from storage and you used it immediately after a short charge, it's forming at a lower capacity ceiling. Do a full 16-hour charge, use the handset until it cuts out, then repeat that cycle twice more — talk time increases measurably with each pass.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix this?

Some Lexibook DECT handsets drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed from the handset. This is a firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset manually: press and hold the paging button on the base for five seconds until the base beeps, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. The handset should reconnect within 60 seconds.

My DP 380FR battery drains completely overnight even though I left it in the base — what's wrong?

This points to a seating issue, not a dead battery. The base charges through two contact pins on the underside of the handset — if the handset isn't fully pressed down into the cradle, the circuit stays open and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, check the contacts on both the handset and base for dust or oxidation, clean with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly until you hear or feel it click into position. The charge light should appear within 10 seconds.
