Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

AEG Fame 510 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DLP413239)
This is a 3.7V, 500mAh Li-ion battery for the AEG Fame 510 cordless DECT handset. It replaces part number DLP413239 and fits directly into the handset battery compartment. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds a charge or the handset dies faster than expected between base visits.
- Fame 510 handset fit: The Fame 510 uses a slim single-cell Li-ion pack running at 3.7V nominal — the same voltage rail the DECT transmitter and audio codec expect. The connector and cell dimensions (40.25 × 31.92 × 4.32mm) match the original housing without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Fame 510 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the base station without fault, held voltage through a full DECT transmit cycle, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
- First charge after installation: Li-ion cells shipped in storage state arrive at a reduced charge. Place the handset in the base immediately after fitting and leave it for a full charge cycle before use — this lets the BMS complete its first full calibration pass and report accurate charge state to the handset display.
Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new Li-ion pack
A new Li-ion cell ships partially discharged and the handset's fuel gauge has no reference point yet. Until the BMS has logged at least one full charge-discharge cycle, the handset may underreport remaining capacity and shut down early. Run two or three complete cycles — full charge from the base, then use until the handset signals low battery — and talk time will stabilise at the rated level. If it does not improve after three cycles, check that the handset is seating fully in the base cradle and making clean contact with the charging pins.
Handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement
Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to volatile memory, which can wipe the stored base station pairing on some Fame 510 units. The handset powers up but shows no base connection or displays a registration error. Re-register the handset using the base station's pairing button — on most AEG DECT bases this means holding the registration button on the base for three seconds, then confirming on the handset within 60 seconds. Once re-paired, the handset resumes normal operation at full transmit power.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AEG Fame 510 battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — why?
This points to the handset not making a proper charging connection rather than a battery fault. Check that the handset is fully seated in the cradle and that both the handset and base charging contacts are clean — a thin film of dust or oxidation on the pins is enough to stop charge transfer. With no trickle current coming in from the base, the handset's standby draw will flatten a 500mAh Li-ion cell by morning. Clean the contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and check that the charging indicator on the handset lights up within a few seconds.
The base station shows a charging error light when I put the handset in after fitting the new battery — what's causing it?
The base is seeing a battery voltage that falls outside its expected acceptance window. A Li-ion cell shipped in deep storage state can sit below 3.4V, and some AEG base stations reject a charge attempt at that voltage as a fault condition rather than a normal charge state. Leave the handset seated in the base for 10–15 minutes — most base charging circuits will retry and accept the pack once it rises above roughly 3.5V. If the error persists, try a short USB or alternative charge source to bring the cell up to 3.6V, then return it to the base.
My Fame 510 handset drops calls or loses signal near the edges of the house — could the new battery be the cause?
Yes, this can happen if the battery voltage sags under the RF transmit load. The DECT transmitter in the Fame 510 draws a short current spike each time it transmits, and a cell that has not yet completed its first full charge cycle may not sustain the voltage the transmitter needs at range. The handset compensates by reducing transmit power, which cuts usable range. Complete two full charge-discharge cycles first — if the range issue persists after that, check the handset is reading a full charge state (battery icon fully filled) before testing at distance.
