Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel Mobile 100 Reflexes — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (3BN66090 AAAC)

This 3.6V, 500mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the Alcatel Mobile 100 Reflexes cordless DECT handset. It fits the handset battery compartment and connects to the same charging contacts used by the base station. OEM part numbers 3BN66090 AAAC and 3BN66089 AAAC both cross to this pack.

  • Mobile 100 Reflexes compatibility: The Mobile 100 Reflexes uses a single-cell 3.6V NiMH configuration with a specific footprint — 58.90 x 45.70 x 14.35mm. The base station charges via a trickle circuit tuned to NiMH chemistry, so cell count and voltage must match exactly or the base rejects the charge cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through a full charge-discharge cycle on a DECT handset base station. The BMS accepted the charge without triggering an error light, and voltage held at 3.6V nominal under standby and active RF transmit load.
  • First installation charge: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before use. NiMH cells ship partially discharged — skipping this initial slow charge leaves capacity 20–30% below rated figures for the first several cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells do not deliver rated capacity on cycle one. The chemistry needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches 500mAh. Each cycle, available capacity steps up noticeably. If talk time still feels short after five cycles, check that the handset sits fully seated in the base — poor contact means trickle charge never completes and the cell starts each call already at 80% or less.

Base station shows no charge light after fitting the new battery

NiMH packs stored at low state of charge can arrive below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. The base sees the voltage, decides nothing is connected, and shows no charge light. Remove the handset, wait ten seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the base charge detection circuit. If the light still does not appear, use a USB NiMH charger to push the cell above 3.0V, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alcatel Mobile 100 Reflexes loses range near the edges of the house after I put the new battery in — it never did that before. What's happening?

Range drops when the handset's RF transmit circuit pulls more current than the battery can cleanly supply at that moment. A NiMH cell that hasn't completed its first few conditioning cycles has higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under the transmit load — the radio backs off power to compensate. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the internal resistance drops as the cell forms properly. After cycle five, range should return to what the original battery delivered.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — now it won't connect at all.

Some DECT phones write pairing data to volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed, which happens the moment the old battery comes out. The fix is to re-register the handset manually: with the base powered on, hold the registration button on the base unit for three seconds until the LED flashes, then go into the handset menu and select "Register handset" or "Find base." The exact menu label varies by firmware version, but the sequence is always base first, then handset.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — it's dead every morning.

This points to a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't making firm contact with the base charging pins, the base never delivers trickle current and the handset's standby draw pulls the NiMH pack flat by morning. Check that both charging contacts on the handset base are clean and free of dust or oxidation — wipe them with a dry cloth. Reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 30 seconds of docking.
