Fits Audioline CDL 960G, 970G, and Sanyo CAS 1200 and CAS 1300 cordless handsets; replaces OEM 3.6V Ni-MH pack.
3.6V at 600mAh delivers 2.16Wh — enough capacity for a full day of mixed talk and standby on these DECT units.
Connector slides into the battery slot at the handset base; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted.
We bench-tested the cell in a CDL 960G charger cradle; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault light.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Audioline CDL 960G / 970G — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Audioline CDL 960G and 970G cordless DECT handsets, plus the Sanyo CAS 1200 and CAS 1300 and over 28 additional compatible models. It slots directly into the handset battery compartment and restores the phone to full operation. Use the capacity figure above — 600mAh — as the rated spec for this cell.

  • CDL 960G / 970G and Sanyo CAS series fit: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH rail, connector pinout, and physical footprint. The base station charging circuit expects NiMH chemistry — swapping to a different chemistry would confuse the trickle-charge logic and prevent a full charge.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a cordless phone handset platform. The NiMH BMS accepted the pack without triggering an error state, and voltage held stable across the full discharge curve under simulated talk and standby loads.
  • First-install charge for NiMH handsets: After fitting the battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. NiMH cells in cordless phones need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a short first charge leaves the cell partially conditioned and talk time will be noticeably reduced for the first several cycles.

Why talk time is shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On cycle one, you may get noticeably less talk time than the original battery delivered. Each full cycle conditions the cell further. By cycle five, talk time should stabilise at the rated level for this 600mAh pack.

Base station not charging the handset after battery swap

NiMH cells that have sat in storage can drop to a voltage the base station charging circuit reads as a fault — typically below 3.0V — and the charger withholds current rather than risk overcharging a cell it cannot verify. Remove the handset, check the battery contacts on both the pack and handset are clean and making solid contact, then reseat the handset firmly. If the base still shows an error, try a known-good USB or bench charger to nudge the cell above 3.2V first, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Audioline CDL 960G handset is showing a lower signal or dropping range after I put in the new battery — is the battery the cause?

Yes, this is a known effect with NiMH packs that haven't been fully conditioned. When the cell voltage sags under RF transmit load, the handset reduces output power to protect the circuit, which cuts effective range. Run three to five full charge cycles to build the cell's capacity and the voltage sag under load will decrease. After conditioning, range should return to normal operating levels.

The handset lost its pairing with the base station after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, including during a battery swap. Fit the new battery, then re-register the handset to the base using the pairing procedure in your CDL 960G manual — typically a long press of the paging or register button on the base until the handset finds it. The process takes under two minutes and does not affect contacts or call history.

The new battery seems to drain overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — why?

This usually means the handset is not making a clean connection with the base charging contacts. Check that the metal contacts on the base cradle and the handset are free of dust or oxidation — a cotton bud with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol clears most contact issues. Also confirm the handset is fully seated and not resting at an angle. Once contact is restored, the base resumes trickle charging and overnight drain stops.
