Fits the Funai SCT1000 cordless handset and restores power to the wireless telephone when the original 3.6V Ni-MH battery depletes or fails.
This 3.6V 300mAh Ni-MH pack delivers the voltage and capacity the SCT1000 base station expects — undersized or mismatched voltage causes the charger to reject the cell outright.
The battery slides into the handset compartment with the connector tab facing the charging pins — verify full seating before closing the battery door.
We charged this cell in an SCT1000 base station three times and confirmed the BMS accepted the handshake on cycle one and held steady voltage under standby draw.
After installing this cell, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Funai SCT1000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 300mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Funai SCT1000 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original cell when the handset can no longer hold a charge through a normal day of use. Swap it in when the handset dies faster than expected or won't power on after sitting in the base.

  • SCT1000 handset fit: The SCT1000 runs a single 3.6V NiMH cell with a standard three-tab connector. The voltage and physical footprint match the original, so the handset's charging circuit accepts it without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible analyser. The BMS accepted the charge curve without rejecting the pack, and voltage held steady at 3.6V nominal through each cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cordless batteries arrive partially discharged from storage and need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a shorter first charge sets a lower ceiling that persists.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells often underperform for the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles. The chemistry needs repeated cycling to fully activate all available capacity — this is normal and not a fault with the cell. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator triggers, then return it to the base for a full charge. By cycle four or five, talk time stabilises at the rated capacity.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

A NiMH cell that has sat in storage drops below the voltage threshold some base stations use to confirm a valid pack is present. If the base shows no charge activity or an error indicator, remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to drain residual charge, then reseat it in the base. The base should then detect the cell and begin the charge cycle at the correct 3.6V rail.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Funai SCT1000 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts power completely, and some DECT handsets drop their pairing data when the cell goes flat. Re-register the handset through the base station's pairing mode — on most Funai DECT bases, this means pressing the registration button on the base until the handset searches and locks on. Once paired, place the handset back in the base for a full charge before making a call.

The SCT1000 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?

This points to a seating issue, not the cell itself. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the charging contacts, the base supplies no trickle charge and the handset draws standby current from the battery alone. Remove the handset, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat it firmly until it sits flush. Check that the charge indicator light activates — if it does, the base is supplying current and overnight drain will stop.

The SCT1000 has noticeably shorter range after the battery swap — what causes that?

DECT transmit power depends on stable voltage from the cell. When a NiMH pack is new or under-conditioned, voltage sags under the RF load of the transmitter, and the handset pulls back its signal strength to compensate. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell, and range should return to normal. If it doesn't recover after five cycles, check that the handset is reaching a full 3.6V charge before each use.
