Fits Audioline DECT 5500, DECT 5501, DECT 5800 handsets replacing OEM part 30AAAAH2BX and T323.
2.4V, 450mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full handset operation across talk, standby, and base pairing cycles.
Connector is single-pin contact orientation with slight locking tab — slides straight into handset battery compartment without force.
We bench-tested this cell on a DECT 5500 base cradle; BMS acceptance occurred within two charge cycles, no fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Audioline DECT 5500 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (30AAAAH2BX)

This is a 2.4V, 450mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Audioline DECT 5500 handset. It fits the DECT 5500, DECT 5501, DECT 5800, and DECT 550 cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 30AAAAH2BX and T323.

  • DECT 5500 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 2.4V dual-cell NiMH battery bay, connector pitch, and charge circuit. The base station charges at a trickle rate matched to this chemistry, so swapping in a lithium pack would damage the charge circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on a DECT cordless handset platform. The BMS accepted the NiMH pack without error, and the base station charge indicator lit correctly from the first seating.
  • First charge on DECT NiMH packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones are shipped partially discharged. A slow first charge lets each cell reach equal voltage and hit rated capacity — skipping this step leaves noticeable capacity on the table for the first several cycles.

Why talk time stays short for the first few cycles on a new NiMH pack

NiMH cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of storage. The crystalline structure inside each cell needs two to five full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches 450mAh. If talk time feels short after the first charge, that's expected — not a fault. Run the handset until the low-battery tone sounds, then return it to the base for a full charge. Repeat this two more times and capacity will stabilise at the rated level.

Base station charge light not activating after battery swap

If the base station shows no charge indicator after fitting the new battery, the NiMH pack voltage is likely below the base's acceptance threshold from extended storage. The charge circuit on DECT bases uses a delta-V detection method — it needs the battery to present a minimum resting voltage before it begins charging. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly so both charge contacts make full contact. If the light still doesn't activate, check the resting voltage across the battery terminals — it should read at least 2.0V for the base to begin the charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Audioline DECT 5500 handset is losing range — could the new battery be causing it?

Yes, weak NiMH voltage under RF load is the most common cause of reduced range after a battery swap. When the handset transmits, the RF circuit draws a short burst of current that drops the battery voltage. If the pack hasn't been fully conditioned yet, that voltage sag cuts transmit power and shortens range. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and check whether range recovers — it usually does once the cells hit rated capacity.

My DECT 5500 handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, which causes some DECT phones to drop their stored pairing data. This isn't a battery fault — it's how the handset firmware handles a full power loss. Charge the handset for at least one hour first, then re-register it to the base using the pairing button on the base station. Check your DECT 5500 manual for the exact registration sequence — it typically takes under 60 seconds.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's happening?

This points to a seating issue, not a battery fault. DECT handsets charge through two metal contacts on the handset base — if the handset isn't fully seated, those contacts don't connect and the phone runs on battery all night. Lift the handset out, check the charge contacts on both the handset and base for dust or oxidation, then reseat it with a firm click. The charge indicator light should activate within a few seconds of correct seating.
