Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Avaya DH6 / DECT 3730 / DECT 3720 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BKB201010/1)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 650mAh (2.41Wh) for the Avaya DH6, DECT 3730, and DECT 3720 cordless phone handsets. It matches OEM part numbers BKB201010/1, FA01302005, FA83601195, 660177 R1A, 660177 R1D, and 660177 1F. Fits directly into the handset battery compartment with no modification.
- DH6, DECT 3730 and DECT 3720 compatibility: These three handset models share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture, battery form factor (47 × 34 × 4.60mm), and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across all three — one battery covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the DH6 handset platform. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff, and the handset showed a full charge indicator within a normal charge window.
- First-charge protocol for Li-ion cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in its base and leave it undisturbed for a full charge cycle before use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage mode often report falsely low capacity on the first cycle — a complete charge from rest lets the BMS recalibrate its state-of-charge reading accurately.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after fitting this replacement
A freshly installed Li-ion cell often delivers noticeably less talk time on the first one or two cycles. This happens because the cell ships in a partially discharged storage state, and the BMS hasn't yet built an accurate charge profile for it. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and capacity will stabilise at the rated 650mAh. If talk time is still short after five cycles, check that the handset contacts and battery terminals are clean and making firm contact.
Handset not pairing with base station after battery swap
Removing a battery from a DECT handset cuts power completely, and some Avaya DECT models drop their pairing data when power is lost. This isn't a battery fault — it's the handset losing its stored registration with the base. Re-pair the handset using the subscription procedure in the base station menu, which typically involves holding the registration button on the base for three seconds until the handset detects it. Once paired, the handset will hold registration through subsequent battery swaps as long as the new battery retains a charge above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DH6 handset shows a full charge icon but the battery drains completely overnight — is the battery faulty?
This is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. When the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a solid connection and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, reseat it firmly until you feel it click, then check that the charge indicator light on the base activates. If the base light doesn't come on, clean the handset and cradle contacts with a dry cloth and reseat again.
The base station's charge light flashes or shows an error immediately after I install the new battery — what's happening?
Li-ion cells can drop to a low resting voltage during storage, and some Avaya base stations will reject a charge cycle if the incoming voltage reads below their acceptance threshold. Place the handset in the base and leave it without interruption for at least 30 minutes — most base station chargers will trickle-charge a low cell up to the threshold before switching to normal charge mode. If the error clears within that window, the battery is fine. If the error persists after 30 minutes, check that you have the correct 3.7V Li-ion cell and not a mismatched chemistry.
Range on my DECT 3720 dropped noticeably after I swapped the battery — the old battery actually had better range. Why?
DECT handsets modulate transmit power based on available voltage. When a freshly installed or partially conditioned Li-ion cell sags under the RF transmit load, the handset's power management circuit reduces output to stay within safe operating limits, which cuts effective range. Run two or three full charge cycles so the cell builds an accurate charge profile and holds voltage more firmly under load. After conditioning, transmit voltage should stabilise and range will return to normal — if it doesn't, verify the replacement cell is seated firmly and contacts are clean.
