Fits Audioline Monza 480 cordless phone handset, replaces original 2.4V Ni-MH battery pack.
2.4V at 500mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset requires for full wireless operation on a single charge cycle.
Connector slides straight into the handset battery slot with no locking tab — orientation is keyed by the contact pins.
We bench-tested this cell in a Monza 480 base station; BMS accepted the voltage immediately and charged without fault codes or rejection.
After install, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH packs in DECT phones need slow conditioning to reach rated capacity on cycles one through three.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Audioline Monza 480 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V 500mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Audioline Monza 480 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original cell pack when the handset no longer holds enough charge to get through normal daily use. Dimensions are 53.90 x 18.20 x 8.70mm — confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • Monza 480 handset fit: The Monza 480 uses a compact two-cell Ni-MH pack running a 2.4V nominal rail. The connector orientation and cell arrangement match the original cradle contacts, so no adapter or modification is needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Monza 480 base station and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake without error. Voltage rose steadily from storage level through to the full 2.4V nominal without thermal trip.
  • First charge on Ni-MH packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to condition the chemistry and reach rated capacity — a quick top-up will leave you short.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting a new pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage in storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse for several months, its resting voltage can drop low enough that the Monza 480 base station refuses to begin a charge cycle. The base expects to see a voltage above its acceptance threshold before it will start current flow. If the charge light never comes on, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the contact check. If the base still shows no charge, use a known-good charger to push a short trickle charge into the pack until it reads above 2.0V, then return it to the base.

Handset not pairing with base after battery replacement

Some DECT phones lose their pairing data when the battery is fully removed, because pairing settings are held in volatile memory powered by the cell. The Monza 480 can exhibit this after a swap — the handset powers on but shows no link to the base. To fix it, hold the handset close to the base station and run the registration sequence from the base menu, usually found under handset or registration settings. Once re-registered, the handset should show the base signal indicator within a few seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Monza 480 talk time is still short after fitting the new battery — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly not. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. After the first cycle the talk time will be noticeably shorter than the spec — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not a defect. Run the handset down until it prompts you to charge, then return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat this three times. By cycle four the cell should be performing at or close to the 500mAh rated figure.

The handset shows full charge but goes flat sitting in standby overnight — why?

This is a standby draw issue, not a capacity fault. If the handset is not fully seated in the base cradle, the charging contacts do not make a reliable connection and the handset slowly drains rather than trickle-charging through the night. Check that the handset clicks into the base without any gap at the contacts — even a slight tilt is enough to break the circuit. Clean the gold charging pins on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator lights up.

The Monza 480 has noticeably less range since I swapped the battery — what causes this?

DECT transmit power depends on the voltage the handset can sustain under RF load. When a Ni-MH pack is not yet conditioned, its internal resistance is higher than a cycled cell, so voltage sags during the brief high-current burst of each transmission. That sag causes the handset to pull back its output power, which shortens range. Run three full conditioning cycles — full discharge, then 16-hour charge — and internal resistance will drop. If range is still poor after five cycles, measure the pack voltage under load; it should hold above 2.1V during active use.
