This is a 2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Grundig Frame A and Frame Fr cordless handsets. It matches the OEM part number 2SN-3/5F60H-H-JZ1 and fits directly into the handset battery compartment. When the original cell loses capacity, this swap restores the handset to working condition.

  • Frame A and Frame Fr compatibility: Both models share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack format and connector orientation. The base station charges through the same contact points on both handsets, so one battery revision covers the full Frame line.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Grundig Frame base station and confirmed the charging circuit accepted it without fault indication. The BMS held charge termination correctly at full capacity.

Talk time shorter than expected on the first few cycles

Ni-MH cells do not deliver rated capacity straight out of the box. A new 500mAh pack typically performs at 70–80% of that figure for the first three to five charge cycles. This is a chemistry behaviour, not a fault with the cell. Full capacity stabilises after several complete discharge-and-charge cycles through normal handset use.

Base station shows no charge or error light after battery swap

Ni-MH packs stored in a warehouse drop below 2.0V open circuit over time. Some Grundig base stations reject a charge attempt when the incoming pack voltage sits below their acceptance threshold. To recover, remove the battery, let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes, then reseat the handset firmly in the base. If the error clears within a minute, the pack has recovered enough voltage for the base to begin a normal charge cycle.

It is not faulty. Fresh Ni-MH cells deliver below rated capacity for the first three to five complete cycles because the chemistry needs conditioning to reach full charge acceptance. Run the handset until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three to five times. Capacity climbs noticeably with each cycle and should stabilise around 500mAh after that.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones lose their registration data when power is fully removed from the handset. This happens because pairing information is held in volatile memory that clears the moment the old battery comes out. Re-register the handset using the base station pairing button — on most Grundig Frame models, hold the handset registration button on the base for three seconds, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset to reconnect.

The Grundig Frame handset is fully drained by morning even though it sat in the base all night — what is wrong?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. The handset contacts must press firmly against the base cradle contacts to maintain a charge current overnight. Lift the handset out, check that no dust or debris is on the charge contacts at the base of the handset, and reseat it with a firm push down. If the charge indicator light does not appear within 30 seconds of reseating, clean the contacts with a dry cloth and try again.
