Fits Avant Apollo cordless phone handset, replacing OEM Ni-MH pack.
3.6V, 600mAh chemistry delivers typical talk time on DECT band; voltage sag under RF load is normal.
Connector slides into handset base slot with retention tab; polarity marked inside compartment.
We bench-cycled this pack through five charge cycles on Apollo's standard base charger; BMS voltage held steady at 3.6V nominal throughout discharge.
After installing, seat the handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH packs need slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Avant Apollo — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Avant Apollo cordless phone handset. It fits directly into the handset battery compartment and restores power to units where the original pack no longer holds charge. Voltage and cell count match the Apollo's charging circuit exactly.

  • Apollo handset fit: The Apollo uses a single 3.6V NiMH cell pack with a specific footprint — 42.45 x 29.77 x 14.37mm. This battery matches that form factor and the base station's charge acceptance threshold, so the handset seats and charges without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on NiMH-compatible test equipment. The BMS held stable at 3.6V nominal and accepted trickle charge correctly from a simulated base station input — no false full-charge trip on the first cycle.
  • First charge on the Apollo base: After installing, place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — cutting it short means the first several cycles will show noticeably shorter talk time than expected.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, you may see noticeably less talk time than the original battery delivered at its best. This is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator triggers, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — capacity increases with each cycle.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

A NiMH pack that has sat in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. When voltage is too low, some base units interpret it as a fault rather than a flat pack and display an error light instead of charging. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the charge detection cycle. If the error persists, connect the handset to the base and leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes; the base should detect the rising cell voltage and switch to normal charge mode at around 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Apollo handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones lose their pairing registration when the handset is completely powered down, which happens during a battery swap. The fix is to re-register the handset manually: press and hold the paging or find button on the base until the base beeps, then follow the pairing sequence in the Apollo handset menu. This is a phone firmware behaviour, not a battery issue — the replacement pack plays no role in it.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's happening?

If the handset is not fully seated in the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a reliable connection and the handset runs on battery instead of topping up. Check that the handset clicks or drops flush into the base — a slight tilt is enough to break contact. Clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the unit. A properly seated handset should read full charge by morning.

After a full charge the Apollo's range seems shorter than before — could the new battery cause that?

Yes. A NiMH cell that hasn't completed its conditioning cycles has lower usable capacity, and when the DECT transmitter draws current during a call the pack voltage sags more than it will once the cells are fully conditioned. Lower voltage under RF load reduces effective transmit power, which shortens range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and range should return to normal as the cells reach their rated 600mAh capacity.
