Fits Plantronics CT11 and CT12 cordless headsets; replaces OEM part 6342101.
Voltage is 3.6V at 850mAh capacity — delivers full talk time and standby hold on this DECT handset platform.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot on the handset body with a single locking tab; no adapter needed.
We bench tested this cell on a CT11 base unit; BMS voltage read stable at 3.6V and the charging circuit accepted it on first insertion without fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Plantronics CT11 / CT12 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (6342101)

This is a 3.6V, 850mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Plantronics CT11 and CT12 cordless phone headset systems. It slots into the handset unit and restores wireless operation when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and form factor match OEM part 6342101 / 63421-01.

  • CT11 and CT12 compatibility: Both models use the same handset housing, connector pinout, and 3.6V NiMH cell format — one battery fits either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a CT11 handset. The base station accepted the battery without fault lights, and the BMS held voltage within the expected 3.6V nominal range across all test cycles.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless handsets: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the most common reason a new battery appears weak out of the box.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the cell drops far enough, the CT11 base station's charging circuit may not recognise it as a valid pack and will either show an error light or simply not initiate a charge cycle. This is a threshold issue, not a fault with the battery. To recover it, place the handset firmly in the base and leave it undisturbed — most base stations will detect the pack and begin trickle charging within 20 to 30 minutes. Once voltage climbs above the acceptance threshold, the full charge cycle starts automatically.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few uses

NiMH cells do not deliver full capacity on the first cycle — this is normal chemistry, not a defect. The CT11 battery typically reaches rated 850mAh capacity after three to five full charge and discharge cycles. Each cycle builds the crystalline structure in the cell that stores energy. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — talk time will improve with each cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CT11 handset pairs fine but loses range near the edge of the room — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes, this is a real effect with NiMH packs below full capacity. The CT11's RF transmit circuit draws a short burst of current to maintain the DECT signal, and if the battery voltage sags under that load, transmit power drops and range shrinks. It usually clears after three to five full charge cycles once the NiMH cells reach rated capacity. Run the handset to low battery, charge fully in the base for 16 hours, and repeat — range should stabilise by cycle four or five.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix this?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed, which happens every time you pull the battery. This is a firmware behaviour in the handset, not a battery fault. Re-register the CT11 handset to the base using the pairing button on the base station — typically a small button held for three seconds until the indicator flashes. Check the CT11 user guide for the exact sequence if the light pattern does not match.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to the handset not making proper contact with the base charging pins, not a battery fault. If the CT11 handset is slightly misaligned in the cradle, the base cannot deliver a charge current, and the handset's standby draw pulls the battery flat by morning. Remove the handset, clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the unit firmly, and confirm the charge indicator light activates. If the light does not come on after reseating, check the contacts for corrosion or debris.
