Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Crofone ADP4000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 3.6V, 550mAh Ni-MH battery for the Crofone ADP4000 cordless handset. It replaces the original cell pack directly, restoring power to the handset without any modification. If your handset no longer holds a charge or dies mid-call, this is the part that fixes it.
- ADP4000 handset compatibility: The ADP4000 runs on a 3.6V NiMH cell pack at this exact form factor — 47.52 × 34.18 × 6.58mm. The connector orientation and cell arrangement match the original, so the pack seats correctly in the handset battery bay without forcing or trimming.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on NiMH-compatible test equipment. The cells accepted charge current correctly, BMS protection tripped at expected low-voltage cutoff, and capacity stabilised by the third full cycle.
- First charge on NiMH cordless handsets: After installing this battery, place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones do not reach rated capacity on the first charge — the slow first cycle conditions the cells and prevents early capacity loss.
Base station showing charging error after fitting a new NiMH pack
A new NiMH battery shipped from storage can sit at 1.0V per cell or lower. Some ADP4000 base stations check voltage before starting the charge cycle and refuse to charge a pack that reads below their acceptance threshold. This is not a fault with the battery or the base — it is a voltage floor check. To recover the pack, place the handset in the base and leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes. Most bases will trickle-charge a low pack until it crosses the threshold, typically around 3.0V total, then switch to normal charge mode.
Talk time shorter than expected after the first few charges
NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. If talk time feels short immediately after installation, the cells are not yet conditioned — this is normal behaviour, not a defective battery. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator triggers, then return it to the base for a full charge. Repeat this three times and capacity will stabilise at or close to the rated 550mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ADP4000 handset loses range after the new battery — it cuts out near the edges of the house but the original battery didn't.
Range drop under RF load is a voltage sag issue, not a signal problem. A new NiMH pack that hasn't been conditioned yet can't sustain voltage under the transmit current draw, which causes the handset's RF output to sag and drop the signal. Run three full charge-discharge cycles first — talk time and transmit stability will improve as the cells reach rated capacity. If range is still reduced after five cycles, check that the battery contacts in the handset bay are clean and making firm contact.
The handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — it's showing a registration error.
Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is completely removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The handset needs to re-register with the base. Hold the handset's page or find button on the base for five seconds until the handset beeps, then follow the registration prompt on the handset display — on most ADP4000 units this takes under a minute and restores full function.
The new battery drains overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base cradle.
Overnight drain in the cradle almost always means the handset isn't making full contact with the base charging pins. Check that the handset is fully seated — a slight tilt or debris on the pins can break the charge circuit, leaving the handset running on battery in standby mode all night. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light activates. If the light doesn't come on within 30 seconds of seating, the pin contact is the fault point.
