Aastra 480i / 480i CT Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (23-0022-00)

This is a 3.6V, 550mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Aastra 480i, 480i CT, 9480i CT, CM-16, and compatible handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 23-0022-00, E0062-0068-0000, and SN03043T-Ni-MH. Fits directly into the handset battery compartment using the original contacts and housing dimensions.

Range drop on the 480i after a battery swap

The 480i's DECT transmitter draws a brief current spike when maintaining range at the edge of coverage. A Ni-MH cell low on charge sags under that RF load, and the handset reduces transmit power to compensate. This shows up as shorter range — not a pairing issue or a base fault. Run two full charge cycles and test range again from the same location. If voltage holds above 3.3V under load, range will return to normal.

Base station shows no charge light after fitting new battery

Ni-MH cells can drop below the base station's acceptance threshold during storage — typically below 3.0V. When the base detects voltage that low, it refuses to initiate a charge cycle and the indicator stays dark or shows an error. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, then reseat it firmly so both charging contacts are flush. If the light still does not activate, check that the handset is fully clicked into the cradle rather than resting at an angle — a partial contact is the most common cause on the 480i base.
