Fits Doro 950 and 955 cordless phones; replaces OEM battery CS-SX100CL.
3.6V 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers talk time equivalent to original handset pack.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot; no locking tab or polarity risk.
We bench tested the BMS acceptance on a live 955 base station — no fault codes on insertion or first charge cycle.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH cells require slow charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro 950 / 955 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery for the Doro 950 and 955 cordless handsets. It replaces the original cell pack that powers the handset between charges. When the original battery no longer holds a charge, this is a direct swap that restores normal handset operation.

  • 950 and 955 compatibility: Both models use the same battery compartment, connector orientation, and charge circuit. The 3.6V NiMH cell pack fits either handset without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Doro charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge current correctly. Voltage at full charge stabilised at the expected NiMH peak without triggering a fault on the base station.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this leaves the pack under-conditioned for the first several cycles.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few charges

NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A new pack pulled from storage has partially discharged cells that haven't yet been conditioned. Each full cycle pushes the chemistry closer to its 600mAh rating. If talk time is still short after five complete cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the base — a poor contact means the pack is only getting a surface charge.

Base station shows no charge light or error after battery swap

NiMH packs lose voltage during storage, and some base stations won't initiate a charge cycle if the incoming battery voltage reads too low. The Doro base checks for a minimum voltage before it starts the charge current. If the charge light doesn't come on, remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the base station's detection cycle. If the error persists, the pack may need a brief charge from an external NiMH charger at 3.6V to bring it above the acceptance threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Doro 950 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did I break something?

No. Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset during a battery swap. The handset resets its link to the base. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station — on the Doro 950, hold the registration button on the base for three seconds until the handset finds it.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't sitting flush in the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a clean connection and the standby draw slowly drains the pack rather than topping it up. Clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then press the handset firmly into the cradle until it clicks. Check the charge light comes on immediately after reseating.

The range on my Doro 950 seems shorter since I put the new battery in — is that normal?

Yes, and it's temporary. DECT handsets draw peak current during transmission, and an unconditioned NiMH pack sags in voltage under that RF load. When voltage sags, the transmit power drops and range shortens. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the pack, and the voltage under load will stabilise. If range is still poor after five cycles, check that the new battery is making full contact in the compartment — a loose cell shifts under load and breaks the circuit momentarily.
