Fits Lucent 27910 and compatible models 8058480000, 8900990000, E1112 — direct OEM replacement for original cordless handset battery.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity on this DECT platform — voltage sits at safe acceptance threshold for base station charging circuits.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with positive contact facing up — no locking tab, seats flush against spring terminals.
We bench-tested this pack through five full charge cycles on a Lucent base station — BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, voltage held stable under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lucent 27910 / E1112 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Lucent cordless phone handsets including the 27910, E1112, 8058480000, and 8900990000 among others. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the handset for standard talk and standby use. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original pack exactly.

  • 27910 and E1112 series handsets: These models share a common 3.6V single-cell NiMH rail and use the same physical form factor — 45.90 x 31.20 x 10.70mm. The base station charging circuit expects NiMH chemistry; swapping to a different chemistry triggers a charge fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The NiMH cells accepted the trickle charge from the base station without thermal runaway, and the BMS held voltage within the expected window across all cycles.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless packs: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cordless batteries ship partially discharged and need one slow charge cycle to begin reaching rated capacity.

Range dropping after fitting a new NiMH pack

DECT handsets ramp transmit power based on available voltage. A freshly installed NiMH pack that hasn't completed its first full conditioning cycle will sag under the RF load draw. This sag looks identical to a weak battery to the handset's power management circuit. The fix is straightforward — run two to three full charge-discharge cycles before judging range performance. After conditioning, transmit voltage holds steady and range returns to normal.

Base station showing a charge error after new battery installed

NiMH packs lose charge during storage, and some Lucent base stations won't initiate a charge cycle if the incoming cell voltage reads below the acceptance threshold — typically under 3.0V. The base interprets this as a bad or absent battery and lights an error indicator instead of charging. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, reseat it firmly, and leave it undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. If the error clears, the base has detected enough voltage to begin the trickle charge phase.

Frequently Asked Questions

My handset is showing much shorter talk time than expected after fitting the new battery — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly not. NiMH cordless phone cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — 700mAh is the figure after conditioning, not out of the box. Run the handset down until it beeps for low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. By cycle four or five, talk time should be at or near the original specification.

The handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is a seating problem, not a battery fault. If the handset contacts aren't making clean contact with the base cradle, the base station won't maintain the trickle charge and the NiMH pack self-discharges overnight at its natural rate. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle and that both the handset charge contacts and the base pins are clean — wipe them with a dry cloth. A correctly seated handset on a working base will hold charge indefinitely in standby.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some Lucent DECT handsets drop their pairing data when power is fully removed during a battery swap. The handset stores the pairing in volatile memory tied to the battery, so a swap resets it. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — hold it for five to eight seconds until the base enters pairing mode, then follow the handset prompts to complete registration.
