Fits Nortel 2210, 2212, NetLink H340, and NTTQ69 cordless handsets; replaces OEM battery packs in those models.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT phone expects from the base station charger circuit.
Connector slides straight onto the battery contacts inside the handset battery door; no adapter needed, orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested this cell on a Nortel base charger and confirmed the BMS accepts the pack voltage on first insertion without error codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries need slow first charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nortel 2210 / NetLink H340 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Nortel cordless handsets including the 2210, 2212, NetLink H340, and NTTQ69 series. It slots directly into the handset battery compartment and restores power to handsets that no longer hold a charge. Voltage and cell count match the original pack specification.

  • 2210, 2212, NetLink H340, and NTTQ69 compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH architecture and connector footprint. The base station charging circuit targets this voltage range, so the same pack works across all listed models without adjustment.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Nortel base station. The charging circuit accepted the pack without error and the BMS reached full charge cutoff cleanly on each cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless handsets: After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — cutting it short will leave the pack at 60–70% of its 700mAh ceiling for the first several cycles.

Base station error light on a new Ni-MH pack

Nortel base stations use a voltage threshold check at the start of every charge cycle. A new Ni-MH pack shipped in storage can sit below 3.0V — enough to trigger the base's fault light before charging even starts. This is not a faulty battery. Place the handset in the base and leave it undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. The base will trickle current into the pack until it clears the acceptance threshold, then switch to normal charge mode.

Range dropping mid-call after a battery swap

DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available voltage from the battery. When a Ni-MH pack hasn't been fully conditioned, voltage sags under the RF load of an active call — the handset reads this as a low-battery state and pulls back transmit power, shrinking range. This typically resolves after three to five full charge and discharge cycles, once the cells reach their rated 700mAh capacity. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the base each time — a partial connection delivers reduced charge current.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nortel 2210 talk time is much shorter than it used to be even with the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. For the first few cycles, the pack may deliver noticeably less talk time than expected — this is normal cell conditioning, not a fault. Run the handset down until the low-battery alert sounds, then return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle five, capacity should be at or near the rated 700mAh.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some Nortel DECT handsets clear their pairing data when power is fully removed, which happens the moment the old battery comes out. This is a firmware behaviour, not a battery issue. Re-register the handset by holding the Page or Find button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset's pairing prompt — the exact sequence is in your base station manual under "Handset Registration." Once re-paired, the handset will operate normally.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This points to a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a clean connection and the handset runs on battery power all night in standby mode. Remove the handset, check the contacts on both the handset and the base for dust or oxidation, and reseat it firmly until you feel or hear it click. Then confirm the charge indicator light on the base is active — if it's not lit, the handset is not charging.
