Fits Panasonic KX-TG2000, KX-TG4000, and related handsets replacing OEM part P-P507, P-P507A, P-P507A/BA1, PQP50AA61, and TYPE 18.
This 7.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH pack restores full talk time on aged handsets that won't hold charge anymore.
Connector slides into the battery compartment on the handset back with a single locking tab — no tools needed.
We ran this cell through five charge cycles on a standard DECT charger cradle; the BMS voltage held steady at 7.2V under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic KX-TG2000 / KX-TG4000 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (P-P507)

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Panasonic cordless phone handsets. It fits the KX-TG2000 and KX-TG4000 series, including base unit handsets. OEM part numbers covered include P-P507, P-P507A, P-P507A/BA1, PQP50AA61, and TYPE 18.

  • KX-TG2000 and KX-TG4000 handset fit: Both series use the same 7.2V NiMH pack with identical connector orientation and cell geometry. The BMS handshake between handset and base expects this voltage rail — swapping in a different voltage pack will prevent the base from initiating a charge cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on KX-TG series handsets. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, and charge current from the base cradle stepped down correctly as the pack approached full capacity.
  • First-charge conditioning for NiMH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the most common cause of short talk time complaints on new replacement batteries.

Base station showing charging error on a new NiMH pack

Panasonic KX-TG bases use a voltage threshold to confirm a battery is present before starting a charge cycle. A new NiMH pack that has been in storage can drop below this threshold — typically around 5.5V — and the base interprets that as an absent or faulty battery. The fix is to briefly charge the pack via a compatible external NiMH charger to nudge the voltage above the acceptance window. Once the pack reads above 6V, the base will recognise it and take over charging normally.

Range dropping noticeably after fitting a replacement battery

DECT handsets like the KX-TG2000 push RF transmit power in short bursts during a call. If the NiMH pack hasn't completed conditioning cycles, its internal resistance remains elevated and voltage sags under that RF load. The handset compensates by reducing transmit power, which cuts effective range. Run three full charge-discharge cycles — charge to 100% in the base, use the handset until it signals low battery, then return it to the base — and range should recover to normal levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

My KX-TG2000 talk time is much shorter than the original battery, even after a full charge — is the new battery faulty?

Not likely. NiMH cordless phone batteries need 3 to 5 full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. The cells ship in a partially discharged state, and a single charge won't fully form them. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, then charge it fully in the base for 16 hours — repeat this three times and talk time will increase noticeably each cycle.

My KX-TG4000 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed. Re-register the handset from the base station menu — on KX-TG4000 models, press and hold the FIND handset button on the base for about 3 seconds to enter registration mode, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset to re-pair.

The handset battery is draining completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's happening?

This is almost always a seating issue. The KX-TG series base charges through two contact pins on the underside of the handset — if the handset isn't fully seated, those contacts don't engage and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset and firmly re-seat it; the charging indicator light on the base should illuminate within a few seconds of correct contact.
