Fits NEC Univerge MH110 cordless phone handset, replaces OEM battery.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk and standby time on DECT systems.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with single retention tab; orientation keyed.
We bench-cycled this pack on a MH110 base charger — BMS voltage stable at 4.2V float, no early cutoff observed across five discharge cycles.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEC Univerge MH110 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the NEC Univerge MH110 cordless handset. It fits directly into the handset battery compartment and restores talk and standby function to the phone. Use the capacity figure from this listing — 700mAh — not third-party specs you may find elsewhere.

  • Univerge MH110 handset fit: The MH110 handset runs on a single 3.6V Ni-MH cell pack matched to the base station's charging circuit. The voltage rail and connector position on this pack align with what the base expects. Swapping chemistry or voltage will confuse the base charging logic.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held stable voltage through draw, and the cell pack accepted a slow trickle charge without thermal event. Cell balance remained consistent across the first five cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cordless batteries arrive partially discharged from storage. A slow initial charge lets the cells reach rated capacity — skipping this step means the first several cycles will show noticeably reduced talk time.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting a new pack

NEC Univerge base stations monitor incoming voltage from the handset pack before committing to a charge cycle. A new Ni-MH battery that has sat in storage can drop below the base's acceptance threshold — typically under 3.0V. The base interprets this as a fault rather than a flat battery and either shows an error light or simply does nothing. Seating the handset for 30 minutes, removing it, and reseating it often prompts the base to retry; if the pack is above 2.8V it will usually accept the charge on the second attempt.

Range drops noticeably mid-call after a battery swap

The MH110 handset boosts transmit power to maintain the DECT link at range — and that RF load pulls more current than normal standby draw. A Ni-MH cell that hasn't been fully conditioned will sag in voltage under that load, causing the handset to lose signal strength or cut audio briefly. This isn't a pairing or antenna fault — it's the cell pack not yet delivering full current capacity. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles first, and the voltage sag under RF load will reduce as the cells reach rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MH110 talk time is much shorter than the old battery — is the new pack faulty?

Almost certainly not. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — a pack straight from storage will underperform until conditioned. Run the handset down until it beeps for low battery, then seat it in the base for a full charge each time. By cycle five, talk time should be close to the 700mAh rated figure.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT handsets drop their registration data when power is fully removed during a battery change. The MH110 stores pairing in volatile memory tied to the battery supply, so a complete power loss can wipe it. Re-register the handset from the base station menu — on most NEC Univerge systems this is done by holding the page/locate button on the base for five seconds until the handset enters registration mode.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what causes this?

This points to a poor contact between the handset and the base charging pins, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully seated, the base never delivers charge current and the standby draw slowly empties the pack. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then press the handset firmly into the cradle — you should hear or feel a positive click. Check that the base power adapter is lit and delivering voltage before leaving it overnight.
