Fits Panasonic KX-A16, KX-T1232, and KX-T308 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part KX-T308 and P-01H-F2G1.
2.4V 300mAh Ni-MH battery delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset needs to maintain full transmit power and talk time on the base station.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment with a flat orientation; locking tab seats flush against the handset housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a KX-A16 base — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held stable voltage under standby and transmit load.
After installing the battery, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic KX-A16 / KX-T308 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (KX-T308)

This is a 2.4V 300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Panasonic KX-A16 cordless phone handset. It also fits the KX-T1232, KX-T308, and KX-T123210, along with ten additional models in the same series. Install it when the original pack no longer holds a charge and the handset dies mid-call or won't leave the base.

  • KX-T308 series compatibility: These models share a 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack with the same footprint and connector orientation. The base station charges at a trickle rate matched to this chemistry — swapping in a different voltage or chemistry will confuse the charge circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the KX-A16 handset. The BMS accepted charge immediately from the base station, and the handset registered full signal strength through each cycle without voltage sag cutting the RF output.
  • First charge on KX-series handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH packs in KX-series phones arrive partially discharged from storage — a slow first charge lets the cells reach rated capacity. Skipping this step means the first few talk sessions will be noticeably shorter than expected.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells don't deliver rated capacity on the first cycle — they need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach the 300mAh spec. If talk time feels short after the first day, this is normal. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat. By cycle five, capacity should match or beat the original worn pack.

Base station shows no charge or error light after new pack is installed

Ni-MH packs stored in a warehouse can drop below the voltage threshold the KX-series base station expects before it starts a charge cycle. If the base light stays off or flashes an error, the pack voltage is too low for the base to accept. Briefly connect the handset to a USB charger set to 5V for 30 seconds to nudge the cell voltage up, then seat it back in the base — the charge indicator should engage normally after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

My KX-A16 handset loses range within a day of swapping the battery — what's happening?

Range on DECT handsets drops when the Ni-MH pack voltage sags under RF transmit load. A new Ni-MH pack that hasn't been through its conditioning cycles can't sustain the voltage the transmitter needs at the edges of range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first. After conditioning, the pack holds above 2.2V under load and range returns to normal.

The handset stopped pairing with the base station after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Some KX-series DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed during a battery swap. The handset has no backup power to retain the registration. Re-register the handset using the base station's intercom or registration button — on most KX models, hold the locator button on the base for five seconds until the handset prompts for a PIN, then enter the default code 0000.

The battery drains overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a bad cell. The KX-series base charges through contact pins on the underside of the handset — if the handset is slightly off-centre, the pins don't make a clean connection and the handset runs on battery instead of charging. Lift the handset out, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat it firmly until you hear it click into position and the charge light comes on.
