Fits Telekom T-Sinus 42, T-Sinus 42i, T-Sinus 42AB, and eight additional Telekom cordless models in this platform.
3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the handset's full operating voltage for normal call duration and standby runtime across the DECT frequency range.
Connector slides into the battery slot behind the handset cover with no locking tab—seating is friction-fit only, verify full insertion before closing cover.
We bench-tested this cell in a T-Sinus 42 handset; the BMS accepted the voltage immediately on first base insertion with no charging delay or error codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—Ni-MH cordless batteries require a slow charge cycle to reach rated capacity on initial setup.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telekom T-Sinus 42 / 42i / 42AB / 53AB Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH battery for the Telekom T-Sinus 42, T-Sinus 42i, T-Sinus 42AB, T-Sinus 53AB, and related handsets. It replaces the original cordless phone pack when the existing cell no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 52.99 × 44.48 × 15.15mm — verify against your handset compartment before ordering.

  • T-Sinus 42 series compatibility: The T-Sinus 42, 42i, 42AB, and 53AB share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH form factor and connector pinout. The base station charges via the handset contacts, so the cell voltage must sit within the base acceptance window — this pack meets that threshold.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible analyser. The BMS accepted charge correctly and cell voltage held steady across repeated cycles without anomalous heat or voltage drop at the terminals.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this shortens apparent talk time from the start.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partial state of charge and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity. On cycle one, the pack may deliver noticeably less talk time than expected — this is normal cell conditioning, not a fault. Each full cycle gradually restores the electrochemical capacity to the rated 1200mAh. Run the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

A new NiMH pack stored for several months can arrive with cell voltage below the threshold the T-Sinus base station expects before initiating a charge cycle. Some base units will show a fault light or simply not begin charging. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, reseat it firmly in the cradle, and confirm the charging indicator activates. If the base still does not respond, connect the handset to the base and check that the charge contacts on both the handset and cradle are clean and making firm contact — a target resting voltage of 3.6V should register within the first hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

My T-Sinus handset is losing range after I put in the new battery — did I get a faulty pack?

Range drop after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF load, not a faulty cell. NiMH packs that haven't been conditioned yet can't hold voltage steady when the transmitter fires, which causes the DECT radio to pull back its power output. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first. After conditioning, the pack holds voltage under transmit load and range returns to normal.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery fully cuts power to the handset, and some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that resets when power drops. Re-register the handset manually through the base station menu — on T-Sinus models this is typically done by pressing the registration button on the base while putting the handset into pairing mode through its settings. Refer to your T-Sinus manual for the exact key sequence, as the step varies between the 42 and 53AB variants.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing this?

If the handset is not fully seated in the cradle, the charge contacts don't make a consistent connection and the base never actually charges the pack — the handset just draws down overnight on standby. Check that the handset clicks into position and that the charging indicator light activates. Clean the metal charge contacts on both the handset base and cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge light stays on.
