Fits Philips DCT G792, DCT G612, DCT G722, DCT G725 cordless handsets as direct OEM replacement.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full handset runtime on single charge cycles.
Battery installs into handset compartment with snap-fit connector; no tools or modification needed.
We bench-cycled this cell through five charge-discharge loops on a Philips base station — BMS voltage held 2.4V under standby draw with no cutoff faults.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips DCT G792 / DCT G612 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for Philips DECT cordless phone handsets. It fits the DCT G792, DCT G612, DCT G722, and DCT G725 models. If your handset cuts out mid-call or no longer holds a charge after sitting in the base, this battery is the fix.

  • DCT G612 / G722 / G725 compatibility: These four handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack format, connector pitch, and physical footprint — 44.60 × 20.91 × 10.47mm. The base station charging circuit communicates via voltage threshold only, so no BMS handshake is required for acceptance.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DCT G792 base station. The base accepted the battery without error, the charge indicator lit normally, and the handset powered on and registered to the base without issue.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in storage often arrive partially discharged — skipping the slow first charge means the cells never reach rated capacity, and talk time suffers from cycle one.

Talk time shorter than expected after battery swap

New Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on cycle one. The cells need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles to reach their rated 700mAh. Each cycle, available capacity increases noticeably. Run the handset until it drops, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle five, talk time should stabilise at full rated capacity.

Base station shows no charge light or error after fitting new battery

Philips DECT bases use a voltage threshold to confirm a valid pack is seated. A battery arriving from storage can sit below that threshold — typically under 2.0V — which causes the base to withhold charging current entirely. Remove the battery and check terminal voltage with a multimeter. If it reads below 1.8V, apply a brief manual trickle charge at 50mA for 10–15 minutes to bring the pack above the base's acceptance floor, then re-seat it in the handset.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Philips DCT G792 handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT handsets drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed, which happens every time a battery is swapped. The fix is a manual re-registration: press and hold the Find/Page button on the base station until the registration light flashes, then go into the handset menu and run the "Register Handset" routine. Consult the DCT G792 manual for the exact key sequence — it takes under two minutes.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what causes that?

This points to a seating issue, not a battery fault. The DCT G792 base charges via contact pins, and if the handset is even slightly off-centre, the pins do not make a clean connection — the handset runs on battery the entire time it appears to be docked. Remove the handset, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then firmly re-seat the handset and check that the charge indicator lights within 10 seconds.

After I swapped the battery, the DCT G725 handset cuts out or breaks up when I move more than a few metres from the base — was the range always this short?

No — reduced range after a battery swap is a known symptom with Ni-MH packs that have not yet been conditioned. When cell voltage sags under RF transmit load, the DECT radio drops power to compensate, and effective range shrinks. This resolves as the cells condition over three to five full cycles. Complete a full 16-hour charge, then run the handset through several full discharge-and-recharge cycles before judging final range.
