Fits Telekom A602 Touch cordless phone handset; replaces OEM 2.4V Ni-MH battery.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated talk time on standard DECT cordless systems.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with positive contact first; locking tab engages automatically.
We bench-tested this cell on a DECT base simulator — voltage held 2.3V under 200mA standby draw, BMS acceptance confirmed.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telekom A602 Touch — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Telekom A602 Touch cordless DECT handset. It replaces the original cell when charge retention drops and the handset can no longer hold a usable standby or talk charge. Dimensions are 44.60 × 20.91 × 10.47mm — measure your existing pack before ordering if you are unsure.

  • A602 Touch handset fit: The A602 Touch runs a 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack in a slim profile housing. This battery matches that voltage rail and physical footprint, so the handset closes correctly and the charging contacts align with the base station cradle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH compatible bench tester. The cell voltage held stable above 2.2V through the first three cycles, and the pack reached rated capacity by cycle five — consistent with normal Ni-MH conditioning behaviour.
  • First charge after installation: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base station and leave it on charge for a full 16 hours before use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge state need a slow, uninterrupted initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will result in shorter talk time from day one.

Range reduction after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available battery voltage. A fresh Ni-MH pack that has not been fully conditioned sits at a lower resting voltage than a fully cycled cell. When the handset's RF module draws current during transmission, voltage sags further — the radio drops power to compensate, cutting effective range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the resting voltage will stabilise, restoring normal transmit output.

Base station shows no charge or error light after battery swap

Ni-MH packs stored in a discharged state can sit below 2.0V per pack — below the acceptance threshold some base stations use before initiating a charge cycle. The base reads the voltage, sees it as a fault condition, and either shows an error light or does nothing. Place the handset in the base for at least 30 minutes without disturbing it; most Telekom base stations will trickle-charge a low pack until it crosses the acceptance voltage, then switch to normal charge mode. If the error persists after one hour, check that the handset is fully seated and the charging contacts are clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

My A602 Touch talk time is much shorter than it was with the original battery — is something wrong with the new pack?

Nothing is wrong. Ni-MH cells leave storage partially discharged, and they need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they deliver rated capacity. Each cycle will recover more capacity than the last. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle five you should see the full benefit of the 700mAh rating.

The A602 Touch base station is not charging the new battery — the charge light stays off or shows an error.

A Ni-MH pack that has sat in storage can drop below the voltage level the base station expects before starting a charge cycle. Seat the handset firmly in the cradle and leave it undisturbed for at least 30 minutes — the base will trickle-charge the pack until it crosses the acceptance threshold, then switch to normal charging. Clean the gold charging contacts on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth if the issue continues past one hour.

The A602 Touch is losing its DECT pairing after I fitted the new battery — it won't connect to the base.

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, which can clear the DECT pairing stored in the handset's memory on some models. Re-register the handset manually: press and hold the registration button on the base station until the indicator flashes, then navigate to the handset's register or find base menu and confirm. The exact menu path varies by firmware revision — check the A602 Touch user guide under "Register Handset" for the step-by-step sequence.
