Fits Uniden 5105, 5145, 5146, and LS5105 cordless handsets; replaces OEM part 89-1333-01-00.
3.6V Ni-MH at 500mAh delivers enough capacity for normal talk and standby cycles on these DECT handsets.
Battery slides into the handset compartment with a single locking tab — no connector, direct cell contact.
We bench-tested this cell on a 5105 base; the NiMH voltage ramps smoothly through the first three charge cycles before stabilizing at full acceptance.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniden 5105 / 5145 / LS5105 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (89-1333-01-00)

This is a 3.6V 500mAh Ni-MH battery for Uniden cordless phone handsets including the 5105, 5145, 5146, and LS5105. It replaces OEM part numbers 89-1333-01-00, BT5632, and BT5872. The battery mounts inside the handset and powers both talk and standby operation when the handset is off the base.

  • 5105 / 5145 / LS5105 handset compatibility: These models share the same physical bay, three-cell Ni-MH configuration, and base-station charge contact layout — one battery fits the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through a full charge cycle on the base station and confirmed the BMS accepted charge, the charge indicator cleared correctly, and voltage held at 3.6V nominal across load.
  • First-charge cycle on the base station: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones ship partially discharged; the slow trickle charge from the base is what brings them to rated capacity — skipping this step means the first few cycles will fall short.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal chemistry, not a faulty battery. The cells need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before the electrolyte is properly conditioned and capacity stabilises. Each cycle should run from a full base charge to natural handset cutoff, not a partial discharge. By cycle four or five, talk time should reflect the rated 500mAh output.

Base station showing no charge light or error after new battery install

Cordless phone base stations check incoming voltage before starting a charge cycle — if the pack has dropped too low in storage, the base may not recognise it and will withhold charging. Uniden bases typically expect to see at least 2.4V at the contacts to initiate a cycle. If the charge light stays off, remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, reinsert, and reseat the handset firmly — this resets the contact handshake. If the base still won't charge, a brief top-up from a compatible external Ni-MH charger at 3.6V will bring the pack above the acceptance threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Uniden 5105 handset is losing range right after I put the new battery in — is something wrong with the battery?

Range drop on a freshly installed Ni-MH pack is almost always a voltage sag issue, not a defect. When the battery hasn't completed its first conditioning cycles, voltage drops faster under the RF transmit load, and the handset reduces output power to compensate. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles from the base station and range should stabilise. If it doesn't recover by cycle five, check that the charge contacts on the handset and base are clean and making full contact.

My Uniden handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — it was working fine before.

Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset during a battery swap. The handset memory clears, and the base no longer recognises it. To fix this, run the registration sequence from the base station menu — on most Uniden models this means pressing and holding the page or find button on the base for five seconds until the handset enters pairing mode, then confirming on the handset.

The battery is draining completely overnight even though I'm leaving the handset on the base — why?

If the handset is not fully seated, the charge contacts don't make a solid connection and the base never actually charges the pack — the handset draws on the battery in standby and runs it flat by morning. Check that the handset clicks or sits flush in the cradle rather than resting loosely. Also inspect the charge contacts on both the handset and base for oxidation or debris, which can break the circuit even when the handset looks seated correctly. A clean contact at 3.6V input from the base is enough to keep standby draw covered indefinitely.
