Fits VTech LS5105, LS5145, LS5146 cordless phone handsets replacing OEM part numbers 89-1333-01-00, BT5632, BT5872, and 80-1333-00-00.
3.6V Ni-MH pack delivers 500mAh capacity for talk and standby operation on DECT handsets without external power.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with no locking tab — orientation is keyed, reverse insertion blocked by housing.
We bench-tested charge acceptance on a base unit with known NiMH platform — BMS accepted full voltage within two cycles, no fault codes logged.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries need slow initial charging to reach rated capacity and cycle life.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech LS5105 / LS5145 / LS5146 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (89-1333-01-00)

This is a 3.6V, 500mAh Ni-MH battery for the V Tech LS5105, LS5145, and LS5146 cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 89-1333-01-00, BT5632, BT5872, and 80-1333-00-00. The physical dimensions are 35.81 × 25.63 × 8.74mm — confirm these against your handset bay before fitting.

  • LS5105 / LS5145 / LS5146 fit: All three handsets share the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH bay, connector pinout, and charge circuit. One battery spec covers the whole family — no adapter or wiring change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the V Tech charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without triggering an error state. Voltage held above the 3.2V handset cutoff through full discharge cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: Place the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged — a short first charge will not bring them to rated capacity and talk time will appear low until 3–5 full cycles complete.

Range loss on the LS5105 after a battery swap

DECT transmit power draws brief current spikes that a low-state Ni-MH pack cannot sustain cleanly. When the cell voltage sags under RF load, the handset reduces transmit power to protect the circuit — range drops noticeably as a result. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. After 3–5 full charge and discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and voltage sag under RF load decreases. Range returns to normal once the pack has been properly conditioned.

Handset not pairing with the base after battery replacement

Removing power from a DECT handset completely can wipe the stored pairing data on some V Tech models. The handset and base need to re-register before calls will connect. To re-register, press and hold the Handset Locator button on the base for 4 seconds until the handset shows a pairing prompt, then follow the on-screen steps. Once paired, the handset should show full signal bars within a few seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LS5105 talk time is way shorter than the original battery — is the replacement faulty?

Most likely not. Ni-MH cells arrive partially discharged from storage, and the first 3–5 charge and discharge cycles are needed before the pack reaches its rated 500mAh capacity. Talk time will increase progressively with each full cycle. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge — repeat this 3–5 times before judging true talk time.

The base station charge light is showing an error or not lighting up at all after I installed the new battery.

A Ni-MH pack that has dropped below roughly 1.0V per cell during storage may fall outside the voltage window the base charge circuit uses to detect a valid battery. The base sees the low voltage and either flags an error or ignores the pack. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — the charge circuit will retry detection. If the error persists, confirm the battery contacts in the handset bay are clean and making full contact with the cell terminals.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — why?

This points to the handset not making proper electrical contact with the base charging pins, not a battery defect. When the handset is slightly misaligned in the cradle, the charge circuit never activates and the handset runs entirely off the battery in standby. Lift the handset out, check the metal charge contacts on the handset base for dirt or corrosion, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat the handset until it clicks into position — the charge indicator light should confirm active charging.
