Fits Cisco 8800 series cordless phones; replaces OEM part CP-BATT-8821, GP-S10-374192-010H, and 74-102376-01.
3.8V and 1700mAh Li-Polymer chemistry delivers talk and standby time matching original equipment specifications.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush against housing wall.
We tested this cell in an 8821 handset — BMS accepted voltage immediately; no fault codes on base station charger.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Li-Polymer cells in DECT phones need this initial slow charge to register correctly with the base station's fuel gauge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cisco 8821 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CP-BATT-8821)

This 3.8V, 1700mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original pack in the Cisco 8821 wireless IP phone handset. It restores full handset operation when the original cell has degraded or failed. The OEM part numbers CP-BATT-8821, GP-S10-374192-010H, and 74-102376-01 all cross-reference this unit.

  • Cisco 8821 handset fit: The 8821 uses a slim Li-Polymer cell to keep the handset lightweight for mobile clinical and warehouse environments. This pack matches the original connector orientation, BMS communication pins, and physical footprint — the handset firmware recognises the cell without prompting an alert.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the 8821 platform. The BMS reported correct cell voltage at rest and held the charge threshold without triggering a low-battery alert prematurely.
  • First-charge protocol for the 8821: After installing, seat the handset in its charging cradle and leave it undisturbed for a full charge cycle before making any calls. Li-Polymer cells shipped at partial state of charge need one full charge to calibrate the handset's fuel gauge correctly.

Talk time shorter than rated after swapping the 8821 battery

A new Li-Polymer pack ships at a storage charge — typically 40–60% — not a full 3.8V. If you start using the handset before running a complete charge cycle, the fuel gauge in the 8821 calibrates against that lower starting point. The handset then reads the battery as depleted earlier than it actually is. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and the reported capacity will stabilise at the rated 1700mAh.

Handset not pairing with the base station after battery replacement

Removing the battery from the 8821 cuts power completely, which can wipe the active DECT pairing stored in volatile memory. The handset comes back up without its base registration. To restore it, go to Settings → Phone Information → Add a Phone on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager, then follow the on-screen re-registration steps on the handset. Once registered, the pairing survives future battery swaps as long as the base retains its configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cisco 8821 shows a charging error light on the cradle after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

A new Li-Polymer pack at storage charge can present a voltage slightly below the cradle's acceptance window, causing the charge indicator to flash or show an error instead of a steady charge light. Seat the handset firmly in the cradle and leave it for 15–20 minutes — the charger will top the cell up past the acceptance threshold and switch to normal charging. If the error persists, remove the handset, reinsert it, and confirm the gold contacts on the battery are fully aligned with the cradle pins. The cradle should show a solid charge light once the cell reads above 3.5V.

The 8821 handset loses signal range near the edge of my floor after the battery swap — was this normal before?

Range drops when the battery voltage sags under the RF transmit load. Li-Polymer cells that haven't been fully charged yet deliver less current under load, and the 8821's radio reduces transmit power to compensate. Charge the handset to 100% and re-test the range at the same location. If range is still shorter after a full charge, check that the replacement pack is seated flat with no gap — a partially seated battery increases internal resistance and causes the same voltage sag under RF load.

My Cisco 8821 battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the cradle — why?

Overnight drain in the cradle usually means the handset isn't making consistent contact with the charging pins. The 8821 cradle relies on light spring pressure on the base contacts — if the handset is even slightly misaligned, it draws standby current from the battery without topping it back up. Re-seat the handset with a firm downward press until you feel it click into position, then check that the charge indicator lights immediately. If the cradle contacts look oxidised, clean them with a dry cotton swab before re-seating the handset.
