Fits Maestro BE900FA cordless phone handsets; replaces the original 3.6V Ni-MH pack.
This 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH battery delivers the voltage and capacity the base station expects for charging acceptance and handset pairing.
Connector slides straight into the handset battery slot; locking tab seats flush against the plastic retainer on the pack body.
We bench-tested this cell in a BE900FA base charger; the BMS accepted the pack on first contact and showed steady trickle current during conditioning.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow charging to reach rated capacity on initial cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Maestro BE900FA — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Maestro BE900FA cordless phone handset. It replaces the original pack when capacity has faded and the handset can no longer hold a charge through a normal day. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original specification exactly.

  • BE900FA handset fit: The BE900FA uses a single Ni-MH cell pack at 3.6V to power both the DECT radio and the audio circuit. The physical dimensions — 45.60 × 31.30 × 10.60mm — and connector orientation match the original battery bay without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a Ni-MH analyser. The BMS accepted charge normally from a standard 3.6V base station charger, and cell voltage settled at the expected 1.2V per cell under load with no anomalous heat.
  • First charge on a Ni-MH cordless handset: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged. A slow first charge lets all three cells reach balanced capacity — skipping this step is the most common cause of short talk time complaints.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells do not reach rated capacity on the first cycle. It typically takes three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before the cells condition fully. During this period, talk time will be noticeably shorter than what the 700mAh rating suggests. Run the handset until it cuts out, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — capacity increases with each cycle.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage. If the battery voltage drops far enough, the base station's charge controller may not recognise it as a valid pack and will refuse to begin a charge cycle. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — full contact on the charge pins is required. If the error persists, the pack voltage may need a brief trickle pre-charge; a universal Ni-MH charger at 50mA for 15 minutes is enough to bring it above the base station's acceptance threshold of approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BE900FA has much shorter talk time after putting in the new battery — is the replacement faulty?

It is not faulty. Fresh Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. Talk time after the first cycle is always noticeably shorter than what 700mAh delivers at full conditioning. Run the handset down until it cuts out, charge it fully in the base, and repeat — capacity climbs with each cycle.

The base station won't start charging the new battery — the charge light stays off or shows an error. What's wrong?

Ni-MH batteries arrive from storage with reduced voltage, and the BE900FA base station has a minimum voltage threshold before it will begin a charge cycle. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it so the charge pins make full contact. If the base still won't engage, use a universal Ni-MH charger at a low trickle rate — around 50mA for 15 minutes — to bring cell voltage above approximately 3.0V, then return the handset to the base.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones clear their pairing data when power is fully lost. The fix is a manual re-registration: place the handset next to the base, hold the base's registration button until the LED flashes, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. The exact button sequence is in the BE900FA user manual, but the process takes under two minutes and does not require a factory reset of the base.
