Fits AudioVox TL1000, TL1100, TL1102, TL1200A cordless phones replacing OEM part AP55AAAH3.
3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full handset power output and talk time on each charge cycle.
Connector seats vertically into handset battery slot with positive terminal contact facing the release tab.
We bench-tested this cell across three charge/discharge cycles; BMS accepted voltage ramp cleanly with no base station errors.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AudioVox TL1000 / TL1100 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AP55AAAH3)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the AudioVox TL1000, TL1100, TL1102, and TL1200A cordless phone handsets. It matches the OEM part number AP55AAAH3 and slots directly into the handset battery compartment. Voltage and cell count are identical to the factory pack.

  • TL1000 / TL1100 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.6V three-cell NiMH battery bay, connector orientation, and charge termination logic. One pack covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the TL1000 handset. The base station accepted the battery without error, and the BMS reached full-charge termination at the expected voltage on the third cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones ship partially discharged and need a slow initial charge to activate full rated capacity — skipping this shortens talk time from day one.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells do not deliver rated capacity on the first cycle. The electrochemical surface inside each cell needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches peak capacity. If talk time feels short in the first week, that is normal — it is not a faulty pack. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator activates, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle five, capacity stabilises at the rated 700mAh.

Base station shows no charge or flashes an error light after fitting a new pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If a pack sits in a warehouse long enough, its resting voltage can drop below the threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. The base reads it as an error rather than starting a charge cycle. Fix this by placing the handset in the base anyway and leaving it undisturbed for two hours — most AudioVox base stations will begin a trickle charge at 3.2V or above, which brings the pack up to the acceptance window. If the error clears and charging begins, let it run the full 16-hour cycle before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AudioVox TL1000 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did I break something?

No. Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is completely removed from the handset. The TL1000 stores the link key in volatile memory, so a dead or removed battery can wipe it. Re-register the handset using the base station's page or registration button — the process is covered in the original manual and takes under two minutes. Once paired, place the handset in the base for a full charge cycle.

The handset is fully charged but the range is noticeably shorter than it was with the old battery — what's happening?

Range on a DECT handset is tied directly to transmit power, and transmit power depends on sustained voltage under RF load. A new NiMH pack that hasn't been conditioned yet will sag in voltage the moment the radio fires — the handset backs off power to compensate, and range drops. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cells. After that, the pack holds voltage steadily under RF load and range returns to normal operating distance.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — why?

This points to a seating problem, not a faulty battery. The TL1000 handset charges through contact pins on the base cradle, and if the handset isn't fully clicked into position, those pins don't make reliable contact. The phone stays on standby and draws from the battery all night without topping up. Press the handset firmly into the cradle until it seats flush, then check that the charging indicator light activates. If it does, the problem is solved — a correctly seated handset on a healthy base should show a stable charge indicator within 30 seconds.
