Fits Swisscom TOP S317 cordless phone handsets, replacing original 3.7V lithium-ion packs that no longer hold charge.
3.7V lithium-ion, 1300mAh capacity delivers the voltage and charge window this DECT handset needs for full talk and standby cycles.
Connector seats flush into the handset battery slot with standard positive and negative contact alignment — no adapter required.
We bench-tested this cell in a TOP S317 unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and delivered clean voltage under transmit load.
After installing the battery, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge cycle before regular use — DECT cordless phones need slow initial charging to stabilize the cell voltage and let the base station recognize the new pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Swisscom TOP S317 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh (4.81Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Swisscom TOP S317 cordless DECT handset. It replaces the original cell when the handset stops holding a charge or drops off calls shortly after leaving the base. Dimensions are 53.60 × 36.95 × 7.95mm — confirm these match your existing cell before ordering.

  • TOP S317 handset fit: The S317 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack at a fixed connector orientation. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical footprint, so the handset's charge controller sees the correct input from the base station.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Li-ion test rig. The protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff and the cell accepted a full charge without thermal deviation.
  • First charge after installation: Li-ion cells shipped in storage state may read low voltage. Place the handset in the base immediately after installing the battery and leave it for a full charge cycle before first use — this lets the handset's charge circuit initialise to the cell's actual state of charge.

Base station charge light not responding after swapping the battery

Li-ion cells lose voltage during storage. If the cell voltage drops far enough, the S317 base station's charge circuit may not recognise it as a valid battery and will show no charge activity or an error light. The fix is to check whether the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean — oxidation on either side breaks the circuit. If contacts are clean and the base still shows no activity, leave the handset seated for 30 minutes; most base stations will begin a trickle charge once the cell climbs above roughly 3.0V.

Handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts power to the pairing memory on some S317 units. When power is fully lost, the handset may forget its registered base station and show "searching" or refuse incoming calls. To fix this, re-register the handset from the base station's menu — on most Swisscom DECT bases this is under Settings → Register Handset. You will need the base PIN, which defaults to 0000 on unmodified units.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Swisscom TOP S317 talk time is much shorter than it used to be — is the new battery faulty?

Not necessarily. Li-ion cells shipped from storage deliver reduced capacity on the first few cycles while the charge controller calibrates to the new cell. Talk time typically improves over the first three to five full charge and discharge cycles. If capacity is still noticeably short after five cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the base during charging — a partial connection reduces charge input.

The TOP S317 handset drains to flat overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not making firm contact with the base cradle pins, the charge circuit never activates and the cell slowly discharges from standby draw. Remove the handset, inspect the cradle contacts for dust or debris, and reseat firmly. You should see the charge indicator light activate within a few seconds of correct seating.

The TOP S317 shows reduced range on the new battery — calls cut out further from the base than before.

DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available voltage. If the cell voltage sags under RF load — common when a new cell is not yet fully charged — the handset steps down transmit power and range drops. Run two or three full charge cycles first. If range is still short after that, confirm the battery voltage reads at least 3.7V under load using a multimeter across the battery contacts.
