Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniden DCX770 / DMX776 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT-0001)
This 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part BT-0001 (also listed as BBTY0531001) in Uniden cordless handsets. It fits the DCX770, DMX776, DMX778, and WDECT 2385 series. These models share the same cell format, connector pinout, and voltage requirement, so one battery covers the full range.
- DCX770 / DMX776 / WDECT 2385 platform fit: These handsets run off the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture. The connector, BMS communication line, and physical dimensions — 50.32 × 30.77 × 4.74mm — are identical across the range, so the same pack drops straight in without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DCX770 handset. The BMS accepted charge current from the base station without triggering a fault, held voltage within spec at load, and passed protection cutoff checks at both ends of the discharge curve.
- First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Li-ion cells shipped from storage sit at a partial state of charge — a full conditioning charge ensures the BMS calibrates its capacity tracking correctly from cycle one.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
A new Li-ion cell shipped from storage will often deliver noticeably less talk time for the first few charge cycles. This is not a fault — the BMS has not yet mapped the cell's full capacity range and will cut off discharge earlier than necessary. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles through normal handset use. By cycle five, capacity tracking stabilises and talk time reaches the rated level.
Handset loses pairing with the base after battery swap
Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts power completely, and some Uniden models lose their stored pairing data when the cell drops out. The handset will show no line or fail to register on the base after reinstall. To fix this, hold the handset's Find/Page button while it is seated in the base, or run a fresh DECT registration from the base station menu — refer to the model's pairing sequence, which typically completes in under 60 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Uniden DCX770 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is this the battery?
A fully seated handset in the base should trickle-charge continuously, so overnight drain usually points to a poor contact between the handset terminals and the base charging pins rather than the battery itself. Clean both the handset charge contacts and the base pins with a dry cloth and reseat the handset firmly. If the base charge indicator light does not illuminate within a minute of seating, the contacts are not making a clean connection. Confirm the light is solid before leaving the handset overnight.
The base station shows no charge light or an error light when I put the new battery in — what's wrong?
Li-ion cells stored for extended periods can drop to a voltage level that some Uniden base stations read as a fault condition rather than a dischargeable pack. Connect the handset to the base and leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes — most Uniden charger circuits will attempt a recovery pre-charge at low current before switching to full charge mode. If the error light clears within that window and transitions to a steady charge indicator, the pack has recovered and is charging normally. If the error persists after 30 minutes, check that the handset is seated squarely and the charge contacts are clean.
My DCX770 handset loses range and cuts out near the edges of my house — could the battery be causing this?
Yes — voltage sag under the RF transmit load is a known cause of reduced range in DECT handsets. When the battery voltage drops during a transmission burst, the handset's RF output power falls with it, shrinking the effective range. This is most common in the first few cycles on a new cell before the BMS has fully calibrated, or on an older cell with elevated internal resistance. Run the handset through three full charge and discharge cycles; if range does not recover, measure the battery voltage under load — it should hold above 3.4V during active calls.
