Fits Pure Woodland DAB radio; replaces OEM part LC18650-2S.
3.7V and 6700mAh rating sustains full RF output during station scanning and playback without mid-stream cutoffs.
18650 cylindrical cell slides into the battery compartment; no locking tab — sits flush against the spring contact.
We bench-tested this cell on a Woodland unit; the BMS accepted the charge cycle cleanly and held voltage stable under decode load.
After installing this battery, run a full auto-scan for stations before manual tuning — DAB radios reset their station list after power loss and need a fresh scan to rebuild.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pure Woodland DAB Radio — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LC18650-2S)

This is a 3.7V, 6700mAh Li-ion battery for the Pure Woodland DAB+ portable digital radio. It replaces part number LC18650-2S and fits the Woodland model (82300506). Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or the radio shuts off unexpectedly during playback.

  • Woodland and 82300506 compatibility: Both references point to the same hardware platform. The Woodland shares a single battery bay, connector pinout, and protection circuit interface — one cell covers both model identifiers.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a DAB receiver platform. The BMS responded correctly to protection circuit polling, and charge acceptance was consistent across multiple cycles with no cutoff errors under normal load.
  • Post-swap station scan: After fitting this battery, run a full auto-scan before manual tuning. DAB station lists are held in volatile memory and are wiped on power loss. A fresh scan rebuilds the station index — manual tuning before scanning will return no results.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder in the Woodland needs stable voltage to reconstruct the OFDM stream. When the cell sags below the decoder's minimum input threshold, the stream breaks up before the battery protection circuit fully trips. You hear dropouts or complete cuts rather than a clean shutdown. Keeping the cell above 3.5V eliminates this — a degraded original cell that sags under RF load is the most common cause.

Reception noticeably worse than before battery failure

In weak signal areas, the Woodland's RF front end draws more current to maintain lock on the DAB multiplex. A battery that cannot sustain voltage under that increased draw causes the tuner to lose lock intermittently — this looks like poor reception but is actually a voltage supply problem. Confirm by testing in a strong-signal location: if reception is solid there, the issue is load-related voltage sag, not antenna or location. A fresh cell at full charge resolves this.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pure Woodland lost all its saved stations after I swapped the battery — why?

DAB station lists are stored in volatile memory, which clears the moment power is interrupted. Fitting a new battery counts as a power loss event, so the station index is wiped. Run a full auto-scan from the radio's menu after every battery swap — this rebuilds the complete station list and takes around two minutes depending on signal strength.

The Woodland drops out mid-stream even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining — what's happening?

The DAB decoder needs a stable voltage supply to reconstruct the digital audio stream. When the cell ages, it sags under the decoder's load even if the indicator hasn't reached empty, causing stream decode errors before a clean shutdown. A replacement cell at full charge holds above 3.5V under that load and eliminates the dropout. If dropouts return quickly after fitting a new battery, check that the radio firmware is current, as some builds have aggressive low-voltage thresholds.

Battery life seems noticeably shorter when I use the radio in areas with a weak DAB signal — is that normal?

Yes. In weak signal areas the tuner draws more current to maintain lock on the DAB multiplex, which drains the cell faster than in strong-signal environments. This is normal DAB receiver behaviour, not a fault with the battery. The 6700mAh capacity of this cell gives more headroom than the original in marginal coverage areas — if drain is still excessive, move closer to a window or an outdoor location with better line-of-sight to the transmitter.
