Fits Pure Woodland DAB radio, replaces OEM part LC18650-2S lithium-ion cell.
3.7V nominal, 5200mAh capacity delivers stable voltage for full RF output during station scanning and playback.
Single 18650 cylindrical cell seats vertically in the battery compartment with flat-top contact orientation.
Bench testing showed clean BMS initialization on first insertion with no fault codes or voltage sag under DAB decoder load.
After installation, run a full auto-scan for stations before manual tuning — DAB radios reset their station list after power loss and need a fresh scan to rebuild the stored frequency map.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pure Woodland DAB Radio — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LC18650-2S)

This is a 3.7V, 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Pure Woodland DAB digital radio (model reference 82300506). It slots in where the original LC18650-2S sits and restores wireless operation to the portable DAB+ receiver. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • Woodland and 82300506 compatibility: Both references point to the same hardware platform. The DAB decoder, RF front-end, and charging circuit all run from a single 3.7V Li-ion cell pair. The connector orientation and BMS handshake are identical across both unit markings.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the Woodland platform. The BMS balanced correctly at full charge, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage threshold before the DAB decoder could lose stream lock.
  • Post-installation scan: After fitting this battery, run a full auto-scan before manual tuning. The Woodland stores its station list in volatile memory. Any power interruption — including a battery swap — clears that list, and the radio needs a fresh scan to rebuild it correctly.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder in the Woodland requires a stable voltage rail to maintain stream lock. As the battery discharges toward its lower threshold, voltage sag under the RF load causes the decoder to drop frames. The radio cuts out or mutes rather than playing degraded audio. This happens earlier with an aged original battery because internal resistance rises — a fresh cell at full charge holds the rail steady under the same load.

Shorter battery life in weak DAB signal areas

The Woodland's RF front-end draws more current when the DAB signal is weak. The tuner increases its search and acquisition power to lock onto a usable multiplex, and that sustained draw pulls the battery down faster than it would in a strong-signal environment. This is normal behaviour, not a battery fault. Moving the radio closer to a window or toward the transmitter direction reduces the RF load and extends the charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pure Woodland lost all its saved stations after I put the new battery in — is that normal?

Yes. The Woodland holds its station list in volatile memory, and any break in power — including a battery swap — wipes it. Run a full auto-scan from the radio's menu after installation and let it complete before you try to tune manually. The list rebuilds from the scan.

Reception seems worse now than it was with the original battery — could the new battery be causing that?

It can be, indirectly. The DAB RF circuit needs the battery voltage above a certain threshold to output full signal acquisition power. If the new battery arrived partially discharged, RF performance will be reduced until it reaches a full charge. Charge it completely first, then test reception — if signal quality still seems off, the issue is environmental rather than the battery.

The Woodland radio works fine at full charge but starts dropping out more as the battery drains — why does it get worse so quickly at the low end?

The DAB stream decoder needs a stable voltage to maintain lock. As the cell discharges, internal resistance causes voltage to sag under the RF and decoding load, and the decoder loses frames before the battery is fully flat. This is why drop-outs cluster at the low end of the charge cycle rather than being spread evenly. A cell in good condition holds the voltage rail steady longer — check that the battery is reaching a full 4.2V per cell at the end of a charge cycle.
