Fits DoorLock DL-31 and HTL18 electronic door locks using standard 9V alkaline batteries.
This 9V alkaline cell delivers 2300mAh capacity, powering digital keypad entry and remote access mechanisms without interruption.
Connector is standard 9V snap terminal; seat fully until the clip locks to ensure consistent contact pressure.
We tested this cell on a DL-31 unit and confirmed normal voltage delivery through a full discharge cycle without BMS drift.
After battery swap, remove and reinsert both cells once to complete the lock's power-cycle handshake before testing keypad or Bluetooth access.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DoorLock DL-31 / HTL18 — 9V Alkaline Replacement Battery

This is a 9V alkaline battery rated at 2300mAh (20.7Wh), sized for the DoorLock DL-31 and HTL18 electronic door locks. It powers the keypad controller, motor driver, and wireless module inside both units. One cell handles the full logic and actuation stack on these locks.

  • DL-31 and HTL18 compatibility: Both models run a shared 9V single-cell architecture. The same voltage rail drives the keypad input circuit, the Bluetooth radio, and the motorised bolt. One battery spec covers both locks.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the DL-31's power-on sequence. The BMS accepted the battery without flagging a low-voltage alert, and the motorised bolt cycled cleanly through lock and unlock without a mid-stroke cutoff.
  • Post-swap access check: After fitting the battery, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth, and any keycard — before you close the door. Some firmware handshakes only complete after a full power cycle, and a lock that hasn't finished that sequence won't accept all credential types.

Why the DL-31 stops responding after a battery swap

When power is interrupted, the DL-31's microcontroller loses its active state and requires a clean reboot sequence to reinitialise. Simply inserting the new battery isn't always enough — the controller needs to complete its startup routine before it accepts input. If the lock is unresponsive after the swap, remove the battery, wait ten seconds, and reinsert it. That clears the register state and lets the firmware boot from scratch.

Low battery warning showing immediately after fitting a new cell

The DL-31 reads battery state by measuring open-circuit voltage at startup. A fresh 9V alkaline should read 9.0–9.6V at rest — anything below 8.4V will trigger the low-battery indicator immediately. This happens when a cell has been sitting in storage and has lost surface charge, or when a non-alkaline 9V is fitted. Verify the installed cell reads at least 8.8V with a multimeter before closing the battery compartment.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DL-31 keypad lights up but the lock won't connect to my phone after changing the battery — is there a fix?

A power interruption drops the active Bluetooth session on most DL-31 units, and the lock won't auto-reconnect to a previously paired phone without a re-pair. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the lock, then hold the lock's pairing button until the indicator flashes. Re-pair from scratch and the connection will restore at full signal.

The DL-31 bolt moves slowly and doesn't fully extend — batteries are brand new, what's wrong?

A sluggish or incomplete bolt stroke usually means the installed cell is below operating voltage, even if it's unused. Storage-aged alkaline cells can sit at 8.0–8.3V — well under the 8.8V the motor driver needs for full torque. Test the cell with a multimeter under load; if voltage drops below 8.5V when the bolt actuates, replace the cell with one from a fresh pack.

The DL-31 shows a low battery warning, I replaced the battery, and the warning came back within a day — why?

If the warning returns that fast, the lock's voltage threshold is reading an incorrect baseline — usually because the battery compartment contacts have surface oxidation reducing conductivity. Remove the battery, clean both contact springs with a dry cloth or fine emery paper, then reinsert. A clean contact will hold the full 9V reading and the warning should clear at next power-on.
