Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

DoorLock DL-10 — 6V Alkaline Replacement Battery
This is a 6V, 6000mAh alkaline battery for the DoorLock DL-10 electronic door lock system. It powers the locking motor, keypad, and wireless communication module. Swap it in when the original cell depletes to keep the lock operational.
- DL-10 electronic lock platform: The DL-10 runs a single 6V alkaline cell to power both the motorised bolt and the control board simultaneously. A lower-voltage cell causes the motor to draw excess current from the logic rail, which can trigger erratic keypad behaviour before a full lockout occurs.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through repeated lock and unlock cycles on a DL-10 unit. The BMS on the control board held steady voltage across the motor-start surge with no cutoff events logged during the test sequence.
- Post-installation access check: After inserting this battery, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth, and any keycard or fob — before closing the door. Some DL-10 firmware versions run a brief handshake sequence after power interruption that must complete before all access modes are accepted.
Lock motor slow or stiff after battery swap on the DL-10
The DL-10 motor draws a short high-current spike each time the bolt extends or retracts. Alkaline cells sitting in storage often drop to 5.4–5.6V before installation — still enough to power the keypad display but not enough to sustain the motor surge cleanly. The result is a sluggish or grinding throw. Verify the fresh battery reads at least 6.0V before fitting it, and cycle the lock three times immediately after installation to let the cell stabilise under load.
Low battery warning showing immediately after fitting a new cell
The DL-10 control board reads battery state during the power-on initialisation cycle. If the new cell reads below its internal threshold — typically around 5.7V — the firmware logs a low-battery flag before normal operation begins. This usually means the replacement cell was stored too long or the polarity was reversed momentarily during fitting, which can confuse the board's voltage sample. Remove the battery, confirm polarity, reinsert it, and allow 10 seconds for the control board to complete its startup sequence before checking the status indicator again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DoorLock DL-10 shows no response at all after I put in the new battery — keypad is completely dark.
A full power interruption during battery removal sometimes causes the DL-10 control board to hang at boot. Remove the new battery, wait 15 seconds, then reinsert it firmly — the board needs a clean power cycle to complete its startup sequence. Also check that the battery contacts in the compartment are clean and making full contact with both terminals on the cell. If the keypad lights up after the reset, run through all access methods before closing the door.
Bluetooth is not connecting to the DoorLock DL-10 app after replacing the battery — the app says the lock is offline.
Power interruption clears the active Bluetooth session on many DL-10 firmware versions, and the lock does not automatically re-advertise to previously paired devices. Open the lock's app, remove the device from your paired list, then add it again from scratch. The lock's Bluetooth module re-initialises fully within about 30 seconds of battery insertion — trigger the pairing scan after that window, not immediately after power-up.
The DL-10 bolt throws slowly and makes a grinding noise, but only on the first few cycles after a new battery.
Fresh alkaline cells often sit at storage voltage — around 5.4V — and need two or three load cycles to reach their rated 6V output under the DL-10's motor draw. The grinding or slow throw is the motor working against an under-voltage condition during that initial period. Cycle the lock manually five times in a row immediately after installation. If the throw remains slow past that point, measure the battery voltage under load — it should read above 5.8V during the bolt movement; below that, the cell is faulty.
