Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Legrand 111 914 / Sati Series — 1.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (062625)
This is a 1.2V 1500mAh Ni-MH cell for Legrand emergency lighting units. It fits the 111 914, Sati 111 013V, Sati Connecte 113 218V, adressable 112 013V, and more than 25 additional Legrand fittings. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — 1.2V, 1500mAh (1.8Wh).
- Sati and addressable series compatibility: These fittings share the same 1.2V NiMH charge rail and AA-format cell housing. The charge controller targets the same float voltage across all variants, so one cell type covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge-discharge sequence on a Legrand-compatible emergency lighting test rig. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, and charge current stepped down correctly at full capacity without fault codes.
- First-cycle compliance prep: Within 24 hours of installation, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This confirms the cell accepts load under real conditions and lets the charge controller register the new capacity before your next scheduled compliance test.
Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation
A Legrand emergency fitting expects the incoming cell to sit within a narrow voltage window before it shifts from bulk charge to float. A new cell stored for several months can arrive below that acceptance threshold. When that happens, the controller holds the red fault state and does not progress the charge cycle. Leave the fitting on mains power for 24 hours — the controller will trickle-charge the cell until it crosses the acceptance threshold and the indicator moves to green. If it stays red past 48 hours, measure the cell with a multimeter; it should read above 1.0V open-circuit.
Emergency light dims and cuts short during a duration test
Dimming partway through a test usually means the cell has not yet reached full charge capacity — not that the cell is faulty. On the first activation after replacement, the charge controller has no history for the new cell and may undercharge it before the test runs. Run a full manual test, then return the fitting to mains power for a complete 24-hour charge before testing again. A fully conditioned cell should sustain rated output voltage above 1.0V through the entire test duration.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Legrand emergency light passed installation but failed its duration test the next day — is the cell faulty?
Not necessarily. A new Ni-MH cell needs at least one full charge cycle before it delivers rated capacity under load. If the fitting went straight into a test before the cell had 24 hours on mains charge, it will cut short even with a good cell. Put the fitting back on mains power for a full 24-hour charge, then retest. The cell should sustain output above 1.0V through the entire rated duration.
The fault LED is still on after I confirmed the new cell is properly seated — why won't it clear?
Some Legrand fittings latch the fault LED in firmware and do not auto-reset when a new cell is detected. The cell voltage at connection may also have been too low to trigger the controller's acceptance logic. Hold the test button for three seconds to force a manual reset cycle, then restore mains power. If the LED clears and moves to charge state, the fitting is working correctly — the latch just needed a manual trigger.
I found the old cell had swollen inside the fitting — what caused that and will it happen again?
Swelling in Ni-MH cells is caused by prolonged overcharge, usually from a trickle charge circuit running at elevated temperature over several years. It is a sign the fitting's charge controller was borderline, not that the cell was defective from the start. Check that the fitting's ventilation slots are clear and the ambient temperature at the installation point stays below 35°C. Replacing the cell on schedule — rather than running it until failure — keeps charge cycles within the cell's safe pressure tolerance.
