Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Callaway uPro / uPro Go — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (30200 / GPS305CA)

This 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Callaway uPro and uPro Go handheld golf GPS navigators. It matches the OEM voltage, capacity, and 53.9 × 33.8 × 4.60mm footprint. Fits the existing connector and battery bay without modification.

  • uPro and uPro Go compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. One cell covers both — no BMS handshake difference between the two variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the uPro platform. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold before cell damage could occur.
  • First outdoor power-on after fitting: After installing this cell, power the uPro fully on outside and let it acquire a satellite fix before heading to the first tee. The device performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix can take 5–10 minutes outdoors, compared to under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

GPS accuracy drops at low battery on the uPro

When cell voltage falls below roughly 3.5V, the uPro's receiver reduces sensitivity to stay within power budget. This shows up as wider distance readings or slower green-line updates — not a GPS signal problem, but a power-management response. The fix is a fresh or fully charged cell before a round. A battery that no longer holds charge above 3.5V under load should be replaced, not recharged.

uPro shuts off without low-battery warning

The on-screen battery indicator in the uPro is calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. An aged or new-but-different-capacity cell can cause the indicator to misread state-of-charge, meaning the device hits the voltage cutoff while the icon still shows bars remaining. This is a calibration drift issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. After fitting this battery, run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles to let the indicator recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My uPro lost all my saved courses after I swapped the battery — is that permanent?

Saved course data and user settings on the uPro are held in memory that relies on continuous power. Removing the battery entirely clears that memory, so courses downloaded before the swap will be gone. Reconnect the uPro to the Callaway upro software and re-sync your course library to restore them. Future swaps go faster if you re-download courses immediately after fitting a new cell.

Satellite lock is taking way longer than usual after fitting the replacement — what's happening?

This is a cold start, not a fault. Any full power interruption wipes the GPS receiver's last-known satellite positions and almanac data. The unit has to rebuild that data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes the first time outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power-ons use a warm start and lock in under a minute. Stand outside away from trees or buildings for the first fix after the swap.

The uPro drains noticeably faster during a round when I'm actively navigating every shot — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. Active navigation keeps the GPS receiver and display running continuously at full draw, which pulls significantly more current than standby. The 750mAh cell in this unit was sized for typical round usage, not continuous all-holes active navigation. Reduce display brightness in the settings menu to lower the draw from the screen, which is the larger of the two current consumers at normal sensitivity levels.
