Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navigon 3300 / 3310 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (8390-YE01-0780)
This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Navigon 3300, 3310, 3310 MAXE, and 4310 portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM voltage and physical dimensions (59.47 × 37.00 × 5.05mm) required for these units. Capacity figures are taken directly from product data — 4.44Wh total.
- 3300 / 3310 / 4310 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. The BMS handshake on this series uses a simple two-wire configuration — no authentication chip — so swapping cells does not trigger a compatibility lockout on power-up.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 3310 platform. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge conditions, cutting output at the expected low-voltage threshold and recovering cleanly on reconnect to a charger.
- Cold-start after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors before driving. A full power removal forces a GPS cold start — the receiver has lost its last known position and almanac cache. Acquiring a first satellite fix outdoors at rest gives the unit the clean lock it needs before navigation begins.
Why the Navigon 3300 shuts off without a low-battery warning
The 3300's battery indicator reads cell voltage, not true state of charge. A degraded original cell develops high internal resistance — voltage looks acceptable at low draw but collapses the moment the GPS receiver and display pull current together. The unit hits its cutoff threshold in milliseconds, with no time to display a warning. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage stable under that combined load, so the indicator has time to step down through the warning levels before shutdown.
Saved routes and favourites missing after battery replacement
The Navigon 3300 stores user data — saved destinations, recent routes, and some settings — in RAM that depends on battery power to retain its contents. A complete power removal, such as a battery swap, clears that volatile memory. POIs and favourites stored on the internal flash survive the swap, but route history and unsaved destinations do not. Before removing the old battery, export any saved routes to the SD card via the device menu to avoid losing them permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Navigon 3310 is taking 8–10 minutes to find a satellite after I swapped the battery — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery wipes the receiver's cached almanac and last-known position, forcing a cold start. The GPS has to download fresh satellite position data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes on first fix after a full power loss. Subsequent power-ons from a normal shutdown will lock in under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt.
The Navigon 3300 seems to drain noticeably faster while actively navigating compared to just sitting on standby — is this battery at fault?
This is normal behaviour, not a battery fault. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously, keeps the display lit, and recalculates routes — that combination draws significantly more current than standby. If drain feels excessive, lower screen brightness to its mid setting, which cuts display draw and extends active use noticeably. If the unit still drops charge unusually fast at full brightness with the receiver active, check that the battery is seated flush and the connector contacts are clean.
GPS accuracy on my Navigon 3300 dropped after the battery got very low — does low charge affect positioning?
Yes. Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity at low battery to protect against sudden shutdown. The Navigon series is known to show position drift or slower track updates when cell voltage drops toward the cutoff threshold. This is a firmware-level power-saving response, not a hardware fault. Keep the battery above roughly 3.5V during use — charge before a long trip rather than running the cell to near-empty.
