Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Nuvi 750 / 755 / 755T — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (010-00583-00)
This 3.7V, 1250mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin Nuvi 750, Nuvi 755, and Nuvi 755T portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number 010-00583-00 and fits the same physical envelope at 59.64 × 36.16 × 5.34mm. Swap it in when the original no longer holds a charge or the device shuts off unexpectedly during navigation.
- Nuvi 750, 755, and 755T compatibility: All three models run on the same 3.7V power rail, share an identical connector pinout, and use the same BMS handshake. One cell covers the whole trio without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and discharge on the Nuvi platform. The BMS reported correct voltage at each stage and did not trigger a false low-battery cutoff at any point in the discharge curve.
- First-use satellite acquisition: After fitting this cell, power the device fully on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. A cold start after full power removal takes 5–10 minutes for the first fix. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once the almanac data is cached.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Nuvi 750
The Nuvi 750 pulls more current from the GPS receiver when signal conditions are poor — weak satellite geometry, urban canyons, or heavy cloud cover all increase receiver load. At low state-of-charge, the original aged cell sags below the voltage the receiver needs to run at full sensitivity. The result is positional drift or loss of fix, even though the display is still on. A fresh cell at full charge holds the voltage rail steady and keeps receiver sensitivity where it needs to be.
Nuvi 750 shutting off without a low-battery warning
The battery indicator on the Nuvi 750 reads percentage based on a voltage curve calibrated to a new cell. An aged or degraded cell has a flatter discharge curve, so the device reads 30% and then hits the hardware cutoff voltage almost immediately — no warning, just a sudden shutdown. After fitting this replacement, the voltage curve aligns with what the firmware expects. If shutdowns persist after fitting a new cell, run one full charge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate, then confirm the device reaches 4.2V at the end of charge before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Nuvi 750 lost all my saved routes and favourites after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes. The Nuvi 750 stores saved routes and favourites in battery-backed RAM. When the battery is fully removed, that memory loses power and the data clears. Before the next swap, export your favourites via Garmin's myGarmin or BaseCamp software so you have a backup file to restore from.
The Nuvi 750 is taking 8–10 minutes to get a GPS fix after the battery replacement — something wrong with the new cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. A full power interruption forces a cold start, meaning the device has lost its cached satellite almanac and must download fresh data from scratch. That takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Leave the device stationary in the open until the fix completes — subsequent warm starts will return to under a minute.
The Nuvi 755T battery drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when the device is just sitting on standby — is the replacement cell faulty?
It is not faulty. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously and keeps the backlit display at working brightness — both are high-drain loads. Standby cuts receiver polling frequency and dims or blanks the screen. To extend use on a charge, lower the display brightness in Settings → Display and enable the screen timeout so the backlight cuts off between turns.
