This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin iQue 3200, iQue 3600, and iQue 3600a portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM voltage and physical footprint, fitting the internal bay without modification. Dimensions are 50.30 × 36.17 × 5.60 mm.

• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the iQue platform. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage threshold rather than allowing an uncontrolled cutoff.
• Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After any full power removal, the iQue loses its ephemeris data and must perform a cold start. Power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view and allow 5–10 minutes for first satellite fix. Subsequent warm starts return to under a minute once the almanac rebuilds.

When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, some iQue units reduce RF receiver sensitivity to extend remaining operating time. This shows up as a weaker signal bar count and position drift on the map. It is not a GPS antenna fault — it is a power-management response to low cell voltage. Keeping the battery charged above 3.6V during active navigation prevents this behaviour.

After fitting a new cell, the fuel gauge IC holds calibration values from the old battery. It can misread remaining capacity and trigger a hard cutoff before the on-screen warning ever appears. To recalibrate, run the unit down until it shuts off naturally, then charge it uninterrupted to full. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge cycle resets the threshold so the warning fires at the correct voltage.
