Fits Navman Pin and compatible Praktiker LooxMedia 6500 models; replaces OEM part numbers 541380530006, BL-LP1230/11-D00001U, 541380530005, BP-LP1200/11-D0001 MX, G025M-AB, and G025A-Ab.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 1250mAh delivers 4.63Wh total energy for sustained GPS receiver and display operation during active navigation.
Connector and case match the original pin-style configuration; dimensions are 50.00 x 36.60 x 6.60mm with no modifications needed for standard slot fit.
We tested the BMS on bench load simulation; cutoff voltage held steady at 3.0V with clean discharge curve and no early shutdown events observed.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after power interruption requires five to ten minutes versus under one minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navman Pin / Praktiker LooxMedia 6500 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (541380530006)

This 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in Navman Pin and Praktiker LooxMedia 6500 portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM voltage rail and physical dimensions (50.00 × 36.60 × 6.60mm) needed for a direct swap. Cross-references include BL-LP1230/11-D00001U, BP-LP1200/11-D0001 MX, and G025M-AB.

  • Pin and LooxMedia 6500 compatibility: Both units share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V single-cell architecture, and connector pinout — which is why one cell covers both platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GPS platform and confirmed the protection circuit trips correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold, preventing cell damage during extended navigation use.
  • Post-swap initialisation tip: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors and let it run until it acquires a satellite fix. The unit performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix can take 5–10 minutes outside; subsequent warm starts are under a minute.

GPS accuracy dropping as battery charge falls

Some Navman Pin units reduce GPS receiver sensitivity at low battery to conserve power. This shows up as longer position update intervals, wider accuracy circles on screen, or the unit struggling to maintain lock in areas with marginal signal. It is a firmware-level power management decision, not a hardware fault. Keeping the battery charged above 3.5V under load prevents the device from entering this reduced-sensitivity mode.

Device shuts off with no low-battery warning

After a battery swap, the on-screen fuel gauge is uncalibrated — the navigator has no learned discharge curve for the new cell. The unit can cut power at the hard voltage threshold before the warning indicator fires. This usually self-corrects after two or three full charge and discharge cycles as the device recalibrates its voltage-to-percentage mapping. Run the battery down until shut-off, then charge fully, and repeat until the warning appears reliably before power loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navman Pin lost all my saved routes after I put the new battery in — is that normal?

Yes, and it is specific to how the Pin stores data. Saved routes and recent destinations sit in battery-backed RAM on some Navman units, meaning a full power interruption wipes that memory. Favourites stored to internal flash are usually retained, but trip history and unsaved routes are gone. Before your next swap, export any routes to a connected PC via the Navman software while the old battery still holds partial charge.

The GPS took nearly 10 minutes to find satellites after the battery swap — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Any complete power removal forces a cold start on the GPS receiver, which means the unit has lost its stored almanac and ephemeris data and must download fresh satellite position data from scratch. Outdoors with a clear sky view, this takes 5–10 minutes on the first fix. Once the almanac is rebuilt, subsequent power-ons warm-start in under a minute. Stay stationary outdoors during that first fix for the fastest lock.

The Navman Pin is draining this new battery much faster when I'm actively navigating than when it's just sitting on the dash — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full duty cycle and keeps the display on continuously, which is the highest-draw state the unit enters. In standby or with the screen dimmed, current draw drops significantly. Maximum display brightness accounts for a large share of the load — dropping brightness one or two steps is the single fastest way to extend charge between top-ups on a long drive.
