Fits i-Blue 737, 737 A+, 747, and 747 A+ GPS navigators; replaces OEM part HXE-W01.
3.7V and 1000mAh capacity powers extended field navigation on handheld GPS units.
Connector slides into the battery slot with positive and negative contacts facing outward.
We ran the cell through a full charge cycle on a 737 unit; BMS accepted the pack with no fault codes on insertion.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use—cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first lock versus under one minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

i-Blue 737 / 747 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HXE-W01)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell replacing OEM part HXE-W01 in i-Blue portable GPS navigators. It fits the 737, 737 A+, 747, and 747 A+ along with nine additional models in the same series. The cell measures 52.96 × 33.64 × 5.15mm — verify those dimensions against your existing cell before ordering.

  • 737 / 747 series compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail. One cell covers the entire platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the HXE-W01 replacement through charge and discharge on a GPS navigator load profile. The protection circuit engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff and the cell accepted a full charge without thermal event.
  • First-fix after installation: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors before your first outing and let it acquire a satellite fix. GPS units perform a cold start after full power removal — first fix can take 5–10 minutes while the receiver rebuilds its almanac. Subsequent warm starts run under a minute.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the i-Blue 737

The i-Blue 737 receiver draws more current during active satellite tracking than during standby. When cell voltage drops toward the lower end of the 3.7V nominal range, some GPS receivers step down receiver sensitivity to reduce current draw. The result is weaker satellite signal processing and a wider position error on screen. Keeping the cell above 3.5V under load preserves full receiver performance.

Unit shuts off without warning before the low-battery indicator triggers

This happens because the on-screen battery gauge is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new or partially mismatched cell hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold before the visual indicator reaches empty. The fix is to run two full charge-discharge cycles so the device relearns where the cell's actual cutoff sits. After cycling, the warning should align with shutdown at roughly 3.2–3.3V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My i-Blue 737 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The 737 stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM, which loses power the moment the old cell is removed. That data does not survive a full power interruption. Export your routes to a PC via the companion software before swapping the battery next time, then re-import after the new cell is fitted.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the replacement battery — was the cell faulty?

Not faulty — expected. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's almanac and ephemeris data, forcing a cold start. Cold starts take 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view while the receiver rebuilds its satellite map. Once the almanac is cached, warm starts drop back under a minute. Step outside, leave the unit stationary, and let it complete that first full acquisition.

Active turn-by-turn navigation drains the i-Blue 747 battery much faster than when the unit is just sitting idle — what causes that?

Two things run simultaneously during active navigation: the GPS receiver continuously tracking satellites and the display at full brightness. That combination pulls significantly more current than standby mode. Reducing screen brightness to the lowest usable level cuts display draw and extends the charge noticeably. If drain is still severe, check that the backlight timeout is not set to "always on" in the device settings.
